Stepping into this store felt like a portal to Hayao Miyazaki’s mind.
It was giving a childhood flashback.
My brain cells suddenly got excited as I saw the life-size Totoro at the entrance. It was almost closing time so I had little time to look around, but the nice thing was a smaller crowd.
I wanted to take a picture with Totoro, but it seemed like it was off-limits.
I just went with whatever the crowd was doing, and I did not want to stand out because I might be violating some rules here. 😅

Hey, look! It’s Jiji!🐈⬛
Is he manning Kiki’s corner? A well curated spot in the store. It’s got Kiki’s broom, the shoes, and the sunflower. You can just feel the wholesomeness of the movie! ✨
Though No Face’s aura is not for the happy happy vibe, this character still is captivating.
You can take No Face with you for only 6,600 Yen! 🤩
And you know what? You can ROI that by feeding him with coins, haha. 😆 Not bad, right? It would be satisfying to watch him gulp those coins.
I got intrigued more so I searched on YouTube how this operates. Here is the video.
The Boy and the Heron Poster
I have not watched this movie because I wanted to watch it together with someone, but this someone is always busy and we cannot find time to do it together. It has been one year, y’all since the release!😆
I wanted to watch it so that I can relate...but I have already gone to a Ghibli Store and ughhh have not watched it yet!
Well, that was a little rant there. But for sure, this masterpiece will pierce my heart. Please do not spoil ha! 😆
The Calcifer and Heen tote bags were so cute! The texture was like a rough canvas and seamlessly stitched so I think this is a sturdy bag for everyday use. 👏🏻
If I have one Ghibli character in my mind that I can date, it would be Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle, haha. The most gorgeous and softie male character of them all! Blond or black hair, doesn’t matter.
Mini figures of characters of Spirited Away.
Some were contained in the cats which was fitting. The store limited the customer to just three items max so that everyone would have the chance to bag some. It was a nice reminder, actually. Maybe some people resell these for insane prices.
The blue Totoro is the smaller version of Totoro. Some people forget that it has a blue version. But cannot blame them as it was less iconic than the original version. Still, this character is so charming because of its size and color. It selling though!
Porco Rosso is probably the Ghibli firm that I least times watched. So the theme of this movie is about post-war and planes.
As I was sitting here trying to recall the movie, I could not find something striking about the movie, not that it was a bad one but I just watched this once or twice. I should definitely watch it again and hope of liking the movie.
These keychains were all so good! Almost bought the Castle in the Sky keychain but nope nope! I had to resist coz I knew I could get them at a better price only plus, saving space in my luggage haha. 😆
The iconic Calcifer scene. That scene really made me hungry… Ughhh ham and eggs?☺️ Who can’t resist that? I think this is a wrist pouch a nice size for everyday errands sporting Calcifer.
I think cannot pull these colorful socks in public, haha. The orange was too striking. I imagine wearing these on a cozy movie night or a nice gift for a Ghibli fan.
It was a short and nice experience to be able to visit Ghibli Store.
Though short I got to feel the whimsical nostalgia by being surrounded by the characters.
You can’t help but take pictures of the curated aisle for every movie.
My favorite would be Kiki’s delivery. As a fan, I am grateful for Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpieces.
Thanks for reading! ✨
