Adapt, or die....

June and July have the most rain in Nigeria; you literally wake up to the weather app talking about precipitation and the impending thunderstorm, and most of the time, you still wake up to sunshine and a bright sunny day, but within an hour, the sky suddenly darkens, followed by extremely lightening and the craziest downpours you have ever seen.

I like having a weather app that is 80% correct most of the time, which allows me to change my plans for the day to accommodate the rain. Many people dislike heavy downpours. The main reason is that it halts commercial activities, prompting a few charlatans to raise the prices of goods and commodities. Consider it this way.

If it rains and there are ten people in the market, five of them may stay at home, resulting in scarcity and market inadequacy. This means that the remaining five sellers will charge a higher price because they know you will need to buy due to the market's limited supply.

The main reason these people do this is to compensate themselves for being available even when the weather is bad. The majority of natural disasters are like this. Some areas that are prone to flooding from heavy rainfall are less desirable in the real estate market.

While rain is not a natural disaster, heavy rains can cause flooding and destruction of property. There are worse disasters, such as earthquakes and fire-prone areas. Flashfloods and landslides, as well as fire disasters, occur in some areas of the United States. These disasters can have unimaginable consequences, but it is up to us to adapt or not.

You can either adjust your life or not.

Unfortunately, we cannot control universal externalities. Many aspects of our world are beyond our control. These things can be positive or negative, and we have seen examples throughout history that demonstrate that adaptability is one of man's most valuable qualities.

I'm not saying it's easy to adapt, but the Creator Himself has places strong survival tendencies in us, and this is mostly demonstrated in the ways we tend to turn our deficiencies to providence. However, not everyone can improve their survival skills. The people who cannot will perish, and this is the harshest reality of life.

Humans are products of a superficial design; some of the things we hope and pray for can be solved on our own. Sometimes the elasticity of our survival is tested beyond our comprehension, and when we do not push ourselves to the limit, it is impossible to believe that we have what it takes embedded within us.

So, when natural disasters occur with negative consequences, people mostly try to survive until they can not anymore. Our love of life drives us to seek solutions where none would otherwise exist.

Confront, Win & Digress

We already know that we can not control what we can't, so instead of focusing on how to conquer the impossible, we usually find ways around it. Climbing a tree is not the only way to obtain the tree's contents, and dynamism is one of the most important ways in which humans survive.

I have seen documentaries about people who build houses in inhospitable places. Terrains that were deemed too rough to build houses in, and I have seen people turn the tide on what we normally consider impossible.

Human beings like to solve problems, it's not because we find pleasure in doing so, but what we do like is finding solutions to answers that are no necessary there.

However, it is not true that there are no impossible tasks in life.

Things that were previously thought to be impossible have become possible thanks to advances in science and technology. Unfortunately, some things will always be impossible, regardless of how far technology has advanced and will advance.

In our desperation to survive, people will be tempted to cross the line; to tip the scale of normalcy, but we are already designed (by the Creator) to be limited, and we can somehow overcome this supernatural barrier.

The weather can be very unpredictable brother. Adapting to sudden changes like rain will help manage plans better, despite the challenges. Just as your title say, adapt. Hope everything goes smoothly for you brother

Yeah, adaptability is key in all aspects of life.

@tipu curate

Thanks a lot 🙏

I find it so disgusting and annoying when traders and commercial vehicles increase price tags all because it rained. I remember when I had to walk halfway home this particular day after a heavy downpour and none of the bike riders were willing to accept what was left with me.

I think they just want you to compensate them for being the only available ones, meanwhile it's just pure obsession with making extra profit. I always pay extra, I don't always escape it.

Yeah.... I guess so. but I still think it should be done moderately and not try to oppress us. 🤣🤣

You are the boss na 😎 🤣

We never can tell what we happen even though we make use of a weather forecast but it is always good to prepare ahead. For example, during the hot season, I already made preparations by getting a very good rechargeable fan.
I made preparations for this current season too. Unfortunately, not everyone has the money to do that even though it’s a little money
I love rainy season a lot sha
It’s my favorite

My weather app is always over 80% right, and sometimes too, I use this as a prerequisite to actually prepare. Yeah you once said you love the rain, and well, I guess that's for personal reasons too. I just think when it becomes too much, it gets too bad.

What weather app do you use? Mine is always inaccurate and I just abandoned it and never bothered about it. If it rains or not, all well and good. The best is to adjust when it happens especially when we do not expect it. Humans are made to always want to seek for solutions even to the impossibility and God who made us limited to things knows why He did so. We can only keep trying but can never get answers to everything.

I have an in-device weather app that's very accurate, it comes with the phone. Infact it has predicted another heavy downpour tomorrow and it's probably going to be 90% right, it's always been.

God knows us. He created and put in us those limits, but he has also given some capabilities which we don't even know. You're right, He's never wrong in His design..

Thank you for coming through

How I wish I have such accurate weather app. Well, thanks for the reply.

I don't like the rain either but I guess trying to do everything while it isn't raining will work out. If it rains too much and I get lazy, I might order things online and get them delivered. It really depends but we can't control nature so we can only adapt.

How about when the rain disrupts you from actually going to work? What part of the US do you stay in? Are there natural disasters?
