Reward & Deservedness: Hive's Trendiest Topic?

in #hive-16792218 days ago

I have seen recent Hive posts by some authors discussing how certain people are milking the reward pool, the chain, and so on. It is not a new topic on Hive; it is always being discussed, and I believe that this type of content will increase once Hive reaches $2, followed by an endless downvote on who deserves what on their posts.

While I used to disagree with and criticize these people, I do not think I can do so anymore, and this is due to the diversity of opinions on how Hive should be run. This diversity is necessary, even if it can be morbid, harsh, and uncalled for; we definitely have similar ideas about the type of growth Hive requires, even if everyone's intent is for Hive to grow and all that.

I have seen people who used to be friends fight on the chain because they disagree on what should and should not be; it is healthier than having a group of people who all believe the same thing, not because it is true, but because they want to keep going in the same cycle.

During the splinterlands DHF controversy, people fought among themselves over this proposal, and many people may no longer be friends with certain people as a result of it.

For me, this is healthy; if the proposal were easily passed, SPL and Matt might not take the funding seriously, which is why having obstacles and opposition allows us to celebrate victories whenever they come.

I have fought with a lot of people here in the past, and it was not because I disliked them; it was because I wanted them to do something different, but I have realized that we can not influence change; people must have the mindset of change within themselves before it can happen externally.

Also, I have lost friendships with people here because I felt they were not there for me when I needed them to be, and there are people I no longer speak with, despite the fact that we used to be the best of friends and nothing could separate us.

However, this is life; my path is no longer their path, and my challenges are not their challenges; they believe in something different, and I believe in something different now; they do not believe in Hive, and I believe in Hive, so our interests no longer align; however, I am not going to argue with them; just as the Bible says, I wish and pray for them to be in good health and prosper, and if I get to talk with them someday, I will smile and say hello.

As someone going through a spiritual transition, what is most important to me right now is improving my health and that of my immediate family. This is not to say that I do not help others when I can; I always do, but I am trying to say that time can turn people who were once affiliated into strangers because they no longer believe in the same thing.

The whales you see on Hive today who are currently friends will no longer be friends in the future, due to the presence of diversity and how individuals can metamorphose into different versions of themselves over time.

The whales you despise today or that dead fish you believe is milking the chain may be your best friend; I have seen this happen on the chain in the last seven years. Some people once loved exyle (a now-defunct user), but now despise him and wish he never returned.

When the bull market returns, many people will engage in DV wars like never before. These internal crises give the impression that Hive is bad or not decentralized enough, when in fact it is simply the individual diversity of ideas and beliefs that is always at play.

I love Hive

......and I obviously despise malicious behavior, but going overboard and calling people milkers is not something I would do. I wouldn't support their content and just let them be. However, this is simply my belief as a man who has faced some difficult life realities. We can silently ask people to do better, and if they don't, we will not support them. I understand that we cannot influence others, but I have seen some of these posts and even comments from other whales balancing them and telling these guys to chill.

However, I would not be cynical enough to say that their wars against malicious behavior on Hive are irrelevant; I am simply pleased that the diversity of Hive can sometimes become a double-edged sword, revealing its good side as well. It is good to balance things out. As I previously stated, we fall in and fall out; life and reality ensure that we do not remain rigid.

Well it's already said that change is the only constant thing, so a lot of people tends to change overtime of which some are surprising while others aren't.

Hive is indeed a platform for all and I believe everyone in here should have it interest at heart but then we all are different and can't enforce a thing in people if they are not willing to change.

Well not everyone can have the interest of Hive at heart and that's why the question of milking and malicious intents always comes into play with these whales

I think the posts you've seen are the same ones I've seen and that the community I'm most active in, the Brazilian HiveBR, has also seen. These posts really do generate a lot of discussion about right and wrong and I think they're really good, if they manage to maintain respect between everyone involved.

But in my opinion there really is no right or wrong, there is everyone's point of view, of course there are users who abuse this is clear, but where are there no users or people who abuse? Who don't try to get the better of someone?

Finally, I prefer not to get too involved, let the big guys sort themselves out, in the meantime my focus is to grow individually and grow the HiveBR community, take a little to help with my expenses out here and in the end, be recognized as a good member of the hive, I've been fighting for this for 3 years and I believe I'm on the right track! A big hug.

Well, it's not in my place to say whose good and who is bad, whenever I think anyone is malicious, I just let them be. It's true that maliciousness can affect this place greatly, however everyone having a different opinion and how to sort out things is healthy. Overall Hive is one of the best spaces out there and it's greatly underestimated and I think it's not always greener out there. However we do what we can, just like you're focusing on your community, I'm focusing on other things

I totally agree with you, I even say to my friends in the community that in this "fight" of whales, where posts like these arise and talk about this or that of HP, who has withdrawn, who is doing hold, I always recommend not to get too close, just follow from afar even out of caution. Everyone knows what they're doing here and we have to stay well, create content and keep increasing our HP.

Hive is an incredible place, I agree with you on that, the people here are different for the positive and that motivates me even more to continue. Big hugs.

This subject will always be debated and questioned in a different way by the participants to the Hive ecosystem. I am hoping that Hive will become so much more than just a content creation platform and rewards will go also for different financial instruments and apps. VSC bringing decentralized smart contracts should help with that imo.

Well I believe Hive is already more than a content platform, we just need to actually choose to explore areas that have been deemed impossible for us. I'd like to see smart contracts on Hive, and other stuffs too. I believe we're capable

I've heard about the legendary down vote wars that there are people already complaining about people taking our more than half of their earnings. Personally I have never taken anything out so far, but the day may come that I might need to. People do need to survive in this world because living isn't cheap.

I can see the argument that someone is just milking Hive to take benefits solely for profit. But then again Hive has value and can be traded and sold. I just hope it doesn't get too ugly once the bull run arrives...

How have you been doing this week?

Yeah, I got downvoted a lot in the past, and for over one year as well. I think it just happens to some people no matter if you did something wrong or not. However, anyone should sell if they want, I don't think anyone can dictate how one should use the network. Sometimes these downvote come if they think your post are earning too much rewards.

How have you been doing this week?

It's been emotionally tough to an extent, but I'm coping and that's probably good enough for me. How about you?

It's all going to happen when the price pumps, but I do think the disagreement is good. You bring up a good point in how Splinterlands will take it seriously after a hard fight. I think they will be careful as they know that it isn't easy to get funding.

Yeah I think splinterlands will be careful since they know it's very difficult to get funding. I do agree that this adversity is good for the ecosystem and sometimes people just buckle up when they think they need to.

Thanks a lot

It's like although we have freedom of choice, we also have to be mindful of the greater good and not be too individualistic with our choices. It may take a while to have that realization, especially when life is coming at you fast, making it hard to see things from a broader context.

You think this will get worse when HIVE goes much higher? It might. I don't remember how things were then, apparently. But you reminded me in another post...

It seems we can't escape the dollar value on the either sides of the price range. Now people think: don't sell more HIVE because you'll drive its price to the ground. Then they'll think: you do so little and earn too much.

Now people think: don't sell more > HIVE because you'll drive its price to the ground. Then they'll think: you do so little and earn too much.
Haha I understand. Comparison is a very terrible thing, and I don't think anyone on Hive should do that. I think this is what mostly drives some whales to downvote others. They think oh the price of Hive is 2$ you shouldn't be getting 200$ worth of upvote on one post as at all.
