Alcohol and madness

Life seemed so normal at first, but gradually it turned into a never-ending nightmare.

My husband, who used to be a hardworking and responsible man, fell into the clutches of alcohol and irresponsibility.

At first, he only drank on weekends, but over time it became a daily habit.

He would come home drunk, with friends just as lost as he was, ignoring my pleas to think of the family.

He was fired from his job for his irresponsibility and could not hold a steady job.

Financial problems overwhelmed us, and although he tried to give me some money for food, it was not enough to cover our needs.

The girls were growing up without a father present, watching as their mother struggled to work double shifts in order to save money and fulfil some of her dreams.

But the worst was yet to come. One night, he came home drunker than ever, with a lost look in his eyes.

He was babbling incoherently about demons and voices in his head. I tried to calm him down, but suddenly he lunged at me, with superhuman strength.

His hands closed around my neck, squeezing mercilessly as his bloodshot eyes stared at me with indescribable madness.

I struggled to breathe, to break free of his grip, but it was no use. In his eyes there was no longer a trace of the man I once loved, only a monster consumed by the demons of alcohol and madness.

Just when I thought I was going to die, the girls came into the room, screaming in terror. For a brief moment, their gaze softened, and I took the opportunity to escape their grip.

We ran for our lives, away from the house that was once a home, chased by the unhinged screams of my once-husband.

Since then, we have lived in constant fear that one day he will find us and finish what began that night.

Alcohol and madness turned the love of my life into a monster, and I know he will not rest until he has finished us.
