E-sports, or electronic sports, is basically an organized competitive video gaming. It’s a space where people come together to compete in tournaments across various video games, and yes, sometimes there’s even money involved. But honestly, it’s more than just about making money , it’s about competing, pushing yourself to get better, and showcasing your skills in a competitive environment.
There are a lot of games that are part of the e-sports scene, and some of the big ones include FIFA, NBA, Call of Duty, and Mortal Kombat. To get involved in these tournaments, you really need to have some serious skill. You are not just playing for fun with friends anymore—you’re going head-to-head with players who are often far better, who have spent hours mastering every detail of the game. So, if you’re competing in e-sports, you’ve got to be ready for that level of intensity.
I personally love e-sports for that exact reason. There’s something exciting about the whole thing—whether it’s the thrill, the competition, or just the challenge of it all. One thing I really like is how it pushes you to grow as a player. For example, you could be the best player among your friends, always winning and thinking you’ve got it all figured out. But then you jump into a tournament, and some random person just completely beats you. It’s actually humbling, but it’s also a learning moment. You start to see where you can improve, which motivates you to get better. That’s one of the coolest things about e-sports it’s gives you room for improvement.
I used to take part in e-sports myself, though I don’t anymore. Back then, I would play with a close friend of mine, who’s now in the U.K. He was an absolute FIFA pro. He taught me how to play the game, and trust me, he was really good. He had an Xbox One, and we’d often link up in his room, going online with his mifi to compete against other players in tournaments and sometimes random games with different people. There wasn’t any money involved, but we’d face people from all over, and let me tell you, some of those players were on another level. I lost more times than I can count. I mean, some of the players we faced were insane. We didn’t even know them in real life, but their skill was off the charts.
On top of FIFA, my friend also loved to play Mortal Kombat online. He’d face off with players from different places, and I’d watch him. I wasn't that good at playing Mortal Kombat and to be hoenst, learning how to play Mortal Kombat can sometimes be very hard than learning FiFA.
Thinking back, those gaming sessions were some of the best times I’ve had. Even though I don’t play in e-sports tournaments anymore, I still follow the scene. It’s awesome to see how much the industry is growing, and I appreciate everything it stands for. With e-sports you dont just get to play games, you also get the chance to connect with different people around the world which is something i love about them.
