These are very small native species of fish. Although they are usually very small in size, they are very tasty to eat and they are very nutritious. We know that these small fishes are rich in vitamin A and from a very young age we read in books that eating these fishes can get rid of nightworms and they are rich in vitamin A. However, these small fishes are as tasty as they are nutritious and that is why they are in high demand these days. These small fishes are usually available at this time of the year and the prices of these fishes are quite good as these fishes are in high demand. These are different species of small fishes with many fishes and among them in our native language they were punti, boicha, prawns and many other fishes which also looked quite beautiful.

This afternoon when I went for a walk in the street of our village I saw a man there catching these fishes. Basically he managed to catch the fish with small fishing gear. Usually made of bamboo these fish catching materials are known as anta in our region. These devices are usually placed in very shallow water and cannot be removed when small fish enter them. And in this way many small children and many people catch fish in our area nowadays. Small children catch these fish and sometimes sell them to people besides meeting their family needs. These small fish can also be caught with different types of nets.

Usually these fish were very fresh. Because he was feeding fish in a hole by the road and besides he probably caught the fishes with fishing gear. When I saw the fishes in the heart of the bucket they were alive and many fishes were jumping which looked very beautiful. We usually catch these small fish with different fishing gear at this time of year and many people catch them in large numbers during this time. Especially on both sides of our road there are many crop fields and during monsoon those lands are flooded and various native fish live in them. And when the water recedes, many use different techniques to fish different holes.

The farms that we have here usually have open fish that are not fish from any fisheries projects. Due to which they are much tastier than fish from other ponds. However when I saw the fish this afternoon they looked good. Also during this time we have a lot of fishing here and there are many people who make a living by fishing from open areas like this. Here we have these water bodies from small species of fish to many large species of fish and many fishermen catch them and sell them in the market to earn money. However, at this time every year, a large number of local fish are available in the market, which are usually grown in open water and are sold in the market even though the price of these fish is much higher than the fish brought from other fisheries projects.

But nowadays, fish farming has increased so much that it is almost impossible to get open fish because when you go to the markets, you usually always get farmed fish. Especially in the present time, a lot of fish farming areas have increased in our areas due to which the areas or areas which were open for open fish have now become fish farming areas. And that's why only farmed fish are available now and these fish are very rare in open areas. So such fishes are very nice to see and they are also very tasty to eat. But to tell the truth, when these fish come to the market or many fishermen bring them to sell from house to house, many people buy them quickly.

These open fishes were once abundant in our regions. Especially in the reservoirs or ponds that we have here, there used to be a large number of local fish, but with the passage of time, due to the fact that they have become a place for fishing and water hyacinth is abundant in the water, the number of fish is also decreasing day by day. For example, we have a huge hole in front of our house which used to have a lot of fish and many people used to gather to see those fish. But with the passage of time no fish are found in those holes at all, it is seen that the amount of money that is spent for fishing with irrigation is not available. Although I don't like fish very much but I had a lot of passion for fishing as I used to catch a lot of fish in my childhood. Fishing was my addiction though I rarely ate fish. But now native species like to eat open fishes and enjoy them very much now. So when I see fish somewhere they attract me and I like it.

Hello!

The animals for consumption have nutrients, I guess it has vitamins and other things. I would have liked to see the fishing system; and on the other hand, it is unfortunate the development of a positive technique, affect what the culture and custom in your locality.

PS: I love fish.
