It is weekend experience and I was so excited because it was my nephew's first birthday. His birthday was on Friday so the mum ordered for cake which was delivered on Saturday evening. Aside that, I bought chi exotic juice and lollipops as my own contribution being his aunt. While his mum bought other things like soft drinks and biscuits to it.
The mum said she would love to celebrate his birthday in church instead of celebrating it at home, so it was celebrated with children in the church. Before cutting of the cake, he was prayed for by one of the children. After which they sang birthday song for him.
Drama started when it was time for him to snap pictures. He would not stay he cried so much which I guess was because he was surrounded by different people,faces he was not familiar with. His siblings tried to calm him but instead the cry increased.
Immediately, I carried him just to calm him after which he stopped to cry, I kept him for the next rounds of pictures but this time around, he tried to grab the table knife which I quickly had to hold him so he would not fall because he stood on a chair.
It was not an easy task to snap him because we wanted a good standing position,facing the camera while smiling at the same time.
Finally, we the family members were the last sets of people to take pictures with him.
After which the cake, drinks, lollipops and biscuits were shared.
