Greetings!
Today, being the 14th of January 2025, something happened that made me realize I haven't used the power bank I bought on the 20th of December 2024. Why? There has been a consistent supply of electricity, and I haven't needed to use the power bank at all. For a very long time, this is the first time I am experiencing such a delightful lifestyle where I do not have to cry or get frustrated because of a power outage.
It's not that electricity has been available 24 hours daily, no. There have been power outages, but they are quite different from how it used to be. The longest we have stayed without electricity is 48 hours. When power is restored, it stays for an extended period, giving us enough time to charge all our gadgets fully.
For me, I already had two power banks before buying this new one. In situations where I need to use a power bank, I never exhaust the first two, let alone touch the newly bought one, before electricity gets restored. I sincerely hope this current situation lasts longer before we return to the old days when we depended on the mercy of the power companies for electricity.
I would like to bring my #ttt ( #ThreeTuneTuesday ) into this article. Here are my collections:
Jazzy’s Song by Ayra Starr:
One of the things that drew my attention and made this one of my favorite songs by Ayra Starr is the beat. It sampled Wande Coal’s hit track 'You Bad', and Don Jazzy was actually the mastermind behind the beat.
This song is highly entertaining, even though it is not widely known. It is also very danceable. However, there isn’t much depth or meaning in the lyrics.
You Bad by Wande Coal:
It is almost impossible to talk about Ayra Starr's Jazzy's Song without mentioning 'You Bad' by Wande Coal. This was one of the biggest hits in the music industry the year it was released. I remember memorizing the first verse as well as D’banj’s verse.
It is a love song, easy to sing along to, and highly danceable. It’s unfortunate that the record label behind this song, Mo’Hits, no longer exists. Mo’Hits used to be my favorite musical group and the biggest in Africa at the time.
One Side by Iyanya:
This song remains a hit to me. The beat and the arrangement of the melodies are just exceptional. Initially, I didn’t pay much attention to the explicit parts of the lyrics until a friend, J
@jmis101, pointed them out. Despite this, it remains a very nice song.
The remix featuring Mayorkun and Tekno removed the explicit parts present in the original version, making it more acceptable for broader audiences.
Thank you for reading!
