Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post is another post where I will take friends to see a temple in Chiang Dao District. Yesterday I took everyone to see a temple in an ethnic community of TaiYai people, A temple with a unique TaiYai art style in Mueang Na Subdistrict. But for this post my wife and I went to Huai Pao Village, Thung Khao Phuang Subdistrict. Huai Pao Village is a community of local Thai people and TaiYai people. This village has Wat Huai Pao which is a sacred place for religious ceremonies.
I want to share brief information about this temple before taking friends to see the atmosphere in the temple. Wat Huai Pao is a small common monastery. The temple was allowed to be established as a temple in AD 1941 or approximately 84 years ago. And the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in AD 2007 or 18 years ago.
The atmosphere in Wat Huai Pao. This temple is in an alley. In front of the alley there is an entrance arch to the temple. This entrance arch is built in the TaiYai art style. The pillars of the entrance arch are built in the style of the long thai traditional drums. But the roof of the entrance arch is built in the TaiYai art style.
When we passed this entrance arch before reaching the temple. It will be the atmosphere of some houses in Huai Pao village.
When we arrived at the temple. There is a temple sign on the left side.
At the entrance to the temple there are two white lion statues on the pillars of the wall between the entrances.
Inside the temple is a wide courtyard with large trees.
Interesting highlights of Wat Huai Pao : The ordination hall (ubosot) of temple. The ordination hall (ubosot) of this temple is small, made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and painted white. The front, doors and windows are decorated with stucco patterns in the Northern Thai art style. (Lanna art).
This temple does not have a buddha image hall (viharn). But there is a large buddha image pavilion. In the buddha image pavilion there is the buddha images and the statue of the hermits.
There is the bell and a large gold color gong in the buddha image pavilion too. And there are many Adenium on the side of the buddha image pavilion.
Other interesting highlights of the temple include buildings built in the TaiYai art style. And the bell tower built in the TaiYai art style. This bell tower has 5 floors. Looks different from other temples we have visited.
And other areas in the temple are section containing the monks' living quarters. I didn't take photos of that area. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post.
