I have been in the Hive Blockchain since 2021 when I discovered it through Splinterlands during the play to earn craze. Now a new promising game is being developed aimed at being a fun and engaging game for P2E gamers as well as casual players.

What is HoloZing?

Inspired by Pokemon, HoloZing is a trading card game (TCG) wherein players capture NFT creatures and obtain NFT items. The creatures can then be trained and used by players in PvP battles. The game a passion project by @acidyo, a longtime Hive user and contributor.

From the whitepaper,

"HoloZing is set in the 2040s, in a world where global gaming networks are common and digitized realities are the norm. Players take on the role of a futuristic gamer that uses the proprietary Holo-Lens device to access the world of the HoloZing game, duel with other players, gain fame and glory in esports leagues, and more."

Does that sound like Pokemon to you? If you are an avid fan of the series or TCG in general, then this game should excite you.

Gameplay

There are two types of game play, PvE and PVP.

PvE

The PvE piece is where players attempt to capture creatures in the wild. The battles will be turn based similar to Final Fantasy games. Players will have a set amount of time to choose from a variety of actions or skills.

It's not guaranteed that players can capture creatures though, the players can lose or the creatures can escape. Of course if you beat the creature then you can capture it and add to your collection.

Players can level up their creatures in this mode since it gains experience in every battle. This system is similar to every role playing game we have played.

PvP

Apart from PvE where is fun to increase a player's collection, there is also the PvP mode. This is where players battle with each other using their creatures. Players can earn the game's token $ZING in this mode based the ranking they end up before the week is over.

What is $ZING?

$ZING is the game's native currency which can be used to enable players to do things in-game such as recharging items, crafting and upgrading gears, crafting consumables and many others.

$ZING can be traded in hive-engine. It can also be staked to earn more $ZING.

Multi-accounts and Bots

I'm pleased that the game does not allow multi-accounts and bots. These may help the game in the early stages but in the long term it hastens inflation and drive asset prices down.

How Can I Play Holozing?

At the moment, the game is still in development but you can already get involved in the project should you wish to. Alpha Vials are available in the shop for 20 HBD or its Hive equivalent.

Alpha Vial gives you a chance for a powerful starter creature and alpha-designed starter items. It will only be available for the Alpha duration of the game and will be replaced by Beta Vials as the game enters Beta. Alpha starter creatures cannot be captured in the wild but will continue to be sold in future vials with much lower drop-chance.

Having a vial in your inventory will earn you $ZING daily. You can also delegate HP to @zingtoken or stake $ZING tokens to earn more $ZING.
