This week I brought a brawl battle, where I faced against one of the new monster card that I never saw and has a special ability. That monster is the Night Reaper and his special ability is the Wing Break, which means that he always hit the unit with the Flying ability first regardless of abilities or ruleset. It means it will ignore abilities like the Taunt ability and keep attacking the enemy with the Flying ability or if the enemy unit has the Flying ability and Camouflage ability it will still hit it. If Night Reaper moves to the first position and the enemy has a unit with Flying ability in the 2nd position it keeps attacking the enemy in the 2nd position and ignoring the enemy unit in the first position. 🤞
Hope you will enjoy the battle like I did! 😇
Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
Blood and Sunder | All units have the Corrosive Ward ability. |
Odd Ones Out | Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. |
The mana cap was 57, which is more than enough that I could use, so I will be able whatever strategy I want to follow. The only problem is that the Odd Ones Out ruleset will essentially halves the available monster pool, because it eliminates all the even mana cost monsters from the battle. 😇
The other problem with this battle and the monster pool is that the Keep Your Distance ruleset not going to allow to us any Melee attack monsters, so only Magic and Ranged monster will be available.
The Blood and Sunder ruleset wiill give the Corrosive Ward ability to all of the monsters on the battlefield, which works a similar way than any reflected ability, but only works with the Armor. Whenever a monster hit another and they have Armor they will get reflected back two damage to their own Armor and they will even get reduced their maximum Armor as well. 👍
General Sloan
General Sloan is an excellent Summoner in a battle where there would be not Melee attack monsters, because he gives +1 to attack all the Ranged attack monsters. 🤫
Iziar
Iziar is an excellent tank for this battle, because she has quite a lot of Health and the Taunt ability, so most of the enemy monsters has to attack her. She also has the Void ability, which is one of the most important, because she will halves all the incoming damage targeting her allowing her to sustain quite a lot of damage. 😆
Captain Katie
I used Captain Katie in the second position, because she has Magic attack, so she will be able to attack from the first position as well in case my tank would die. She is a Gladiator monster and has the Bloodlust ability, which means that she will increase all of her stats permanently if she manages to kill her target. 😜
Luceheim Demon
The Luceheim Demon is a very good Ranged attack monster with huge damage, but he has only one Speed, which will make his job more difficult. He also has the Snipe ability and the Cleanse ability, which will increase her potential in a battle. 💪
Gargoya Devil
I used the Gargoya Devil as a tank in case all of the monsters would died before him, because he has the Close Range ability, which means that he will be able to attack from the first position if he fell into there. Sadly he doesn't have too much Health, but at least he got one Armor piece to mitigate some Ranged attack damage. 🤩
Meriput Magician
I used the Meriput Magician as my only suppoert healer for this battle and I think she worked as I intended, because her only role was to give some extra time to my Iziar in the first position to sustain as much as damage as possible. 😀
War Pegasus
The War Pegasus will be my third Ranged attack damage dealer for this battle, because he has two on his own and +1 from Sloan, which is absolutely perfect. Luckily he has quite a good Speed as well in order to hit his targets. 😜
My opponent brought Helios Matriarch as a Summoner, because she is able to use any card from the Dragon Splinter and her abilities will be to increase the Speed of all of her monsters by one. She is also be able to use one additional Gladiator monster if he wishes to do so. 😇
In the first round I quickly lost my Gargoya Devil even thought he was in the middle of my backlane, because my opponent had a 'new' monster the Night Reaper who is a Magic attack monster for eleven mana and one of his ability is the Wing Break.
This is quite a new ability and it is interesting to see even if I lost my Gargoya in the process!
Both of our tanks had the Void ability, so they were halving all the incoming Magic attack damages, so in the first round no other monster had died.
In the second round their Void Dragon died and my tank got close to her death as well, but luckily my healer took her out from there for the moment. My opponent also lost two more monster and they were heavy damage dealers as well, which greatly improved our chance to win.
The third round didn't start that good, because I have lost my tank as well and their Night Reaper killed my War Pegasus from their first position even thought he was the last monster in my team.
In the fourth round Captain Katie managed to kill their Reaper, which also boosted all of her stats and hse got some Heal from my Meriput Magician to help her out from her two Health.
Luckily the last monster in the enemy team was a ranger, so as soon as she fell into the first position she was unable to attack from there and my team won the battle for me. 🤑
