#POBPHOTOCONTEST - FRUIT: THE MANGO
Hi Hivers,
This is my entry to the @friendlymoose -POBphotocontest photo contest on fruits. I hadn't participated in the rounds for a while; but how could I miss the opportunity to share one of my favorite fruits: mango.
I took this photo during one of my visits to Pariaguán, a small town located in the north of the state of Anzoátegui in Venezuela, where my mom was born and raised. These delicious mangos that you see in the pictures below, are from my grandfather's farm, I picked so many that I brought some back to Caracas and now I use them in green salads to give them a sweet touch, or in smoothies and desserts.

Hola Hivers,
Esta es mi entrada al concurso de fotografía de @friendlymoose –POBphotocontest sobre las frutas. Tenía tiempo sin participar en las rondas; pero cómo perderme la oportunidad de compartir unas de mis frutas favoritas: el mango.
Esta foto la hice en una de mis visitas a Pariaguán, un pueblito ubicado al norte del estado Anzoátegui en Venezuela y donde nació y creció mi mamá. Estos deliciosos mangos que ven en las imágenes a continuación, son de la finca de mi abuelo, recogí tantos que me traje unos para Caracas y ahora los uso en ensaladas verdes para darle un toque dulce, o en batidos y postres.
This is one of the fruits that represents the flavors, customs and botanical diversity of Venezuela. It arrived from Asia during the colonial period and thanks to our fertile soil it became an important planting in the patios and gardens of Venezuelan homes. There are different types: bocado, hilacha, pico de loro, injerto and manga, all very good!
I remember very well that, in my childhood, all of us cousins would get together under that mango tree to play with the sand and, of course, to eat mangos all afternoon. Every summer we would travel to Pariaguán to visit the family and this was part of the games and fun during the vacations.
Esta es una de las frutas que representa los sabores, costumbres y diversidad botánica de Venezuela. Llegó de Asía en la época de la colonia y gracias a nuestro suelo fértil se convirtió en una plantación importante de patios y jardines en las casas venezolanas. Hay diferentes tipos: bocado, hilacha, pico de loro, injerto y manga. ¡Todos muy buenos!
Recuerdo mucho que, en mi infancia, nos reuníamos todos los primos bajo esa mata de mango a jugar con la arena, y, por supuesto, a comer mangos toda la tarde. Cada verano viajábamos hasta Pariaguán a visitar a la familia y esto era parte de los juegos y la diversión durante las vacaciones.
