Finding Value in Splinterlands Cards – Grifzi

in #splinterlands10 days ago

Hi all,

Introduction

Another post in this series. Thank you for your support in the previous posts 😊

This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things – so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of strategy and a market analysis of the price of the card. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into in this series, and your support is much appreciated!
In this edition I will be looking at the Grifzi.

Gameplay Analysis

Grifzi is a 1-mana card that offers incredible value for its cost. Here are its key stats and abilities:
• Mana Cost: 1
• Attack Type: Melee
• Health: 1 (Level 1) to 4 (Max Level)
• Speed: 2 (Level 1) to 4 (Max Level)
• Melee Attack: 1 (Level 1) to 2 (Max Level)
• Abilities:
o Sneak (Level 1): Targets the last monster on the enemy team.

Grifzi’s low mana cost and Sneak ability make it an excellent choice for battles with tight mana caps. Its Poison ability at higher levels increases its value significantly, allowing it to inflict steady damage on backline targets even if it’s quickly eliminated. While its low health makes it fragile, its speed compensates by ensuring it makes an impact before being taken out.

Synergies

Grifzi works best when paired with cards and strategies that maximize its potential:

Enhance Melee Damage: Use summoners like Tarsa or abilities like Inspire to boost its attack.
Increase Speed: Cards with Swiftness or summoners like Kelya Frendul ensure it attacks before slower opponents.
Protect with Taunt: Use a Taunt monster to keep enemy fire away from Grifzi, allowing it to focus on dealing damage.

Ruleset Performance

Grifzi excels in specific rulesets:

Little League: With its low mana cost, Grifzi is a perfect fit for this ruleset.
Super Sneak: Its natural Sneak ability ensures it contributes effectively to backline-focused strategies.
Equal Opportunity: Though fragile, Grifzi’s low mana cost and poison make it an efficient choice to target weaker opponents.

Market Analysis

Historical Price Movement
Regular Foil: Priced at approximately $0.75 per BCX, with moderate availability on the market.
Gold Foil: Gold Foil versions are currently priced at around $9.00, with limited supply indicating decent demand.
Grifzi’s low mana cost and unique ability set make it a valuable addition to Death lineups. Its affordability and potential utility in battles with mana caps and poison rulesets ensure it has strategic appeal. The scarcity of Gold Foil versions suggests it could appreciate in value over time.

Conclusion

Grifzi may be fragile, but its 1-mana cost and Sneak ability ensure it punches far above its weight. It’s an excellent choice for mana-constrained battles, offering both gameplay and investment value at an affordable entry point.
