Visiting The Royal Carriage Museum: A Hidden Gem for Royal Enthusiasts

in #hive-16377212 days ago

As a province where the monarch is still reigning, royal carriages are still part of the transportation means in the area. These royal carriages are used during coronations, weddings, or any important events that the royals attended. The monarch family displayed their collection under the Royal Carriage Museum for many of us to see.

This museum has various displays, from attire to the kinds of horses and the oldest royal train that shouldn't be pictured. It is an exciting museum in its own right because you get to see the beautiful ornaments that adorn the carriages. For people who love the royal family and their lives, even carriages, this place is a must-visit in the area.

One of my favorites was this almost century-old carriage that is still kept really well. As I've said, that particular carriages can not be pictured for cultural reasons. But I could just admire its beauty and how it was kept despite being over a century old.

To enter this place, you must go to the ticketing center next to the Northern Square lawn and pay 20,000 IDR to enter the museum. The ticketing staff will give you some options, and you can explore either the Royal Palace or the Royal Carriage Museum. Since I have been to some spots in the royal areas, I decided to go to the Royal Carriage Museum, which is still open.

The people around the area are really lovely. Still, you can feel like you're being hustled, which adds annoyance to the experience. It was the region's least friendly and welcoming spot, but perhaps they were simply tired, and they had too many tourists all around. So maybe that's why they weren't nice to me and my friend.

The last time I went inside this carriage museum was in kindergarten. The building didn't change much, but how it displayed some collections has changed. I also noticed that they added more carriages and information. I could be wrong since it was a long time ago, but this visit left me with a good impression of the place.

Despite living in the province for almost a decade, I barely entered the place. It's like one of those tourist activities, but now I am just that tourist, and it seems more fitting to check out the place. At the start of this museum, you'll get to see the collection of replica horses that they used to carry the carriages. Then, there's even a royal umbrella and the uniform of the royal household servants. They are pretty modernized and look like a marching band costume.

Then, there are a couple more displays of the carriages that are still being used during important royal functions. They have greatly changed throughout the years and even have European influences. As you see in the pictures below, their carriage has some European influences.

I think visiting the museum with a guide rather than going alone is best. Usually, there's a certain tip for the guide, but it won't cost you much. At the time, since I was rushing, I didn't use the guide and just strolled around the area, reading the sign myself while eavesdropping on the group in front of me that used a guide.

I would love to revisit the place just because it's one of the underrated places to check out, as well as the palace grounds and the other areas. In the past, I visited different areas of it, and I think, just like most royal areas, they are divided into a couple of parts, and you just have to know the parts that are more interesting than the others. Hopefully, I can come back to this place soon!

I am always fascinated by things that have to do with royalty and would love to visit a place like this at some point, plus I have always enjoyed learning about history.

I found interesting the oldest carriage, which could not be photographed, is there a reason for that?

I think because it's sacred heirloom and is still functioned as the King's transportation. From what I heard, there's rumor you can see spirits around it but it's just rumor.

I think there are certain things we can't understand and the only way we can do is respect their wish as there are also signs around the area warning us not to take pictures.

All the antique displays in the museum are impressive @macchiata
I was overwhelmed by the different designs of royal carriages. I was imagining how it feels to be in that place. 😊

It was eerie but cool actually. It's pretty sacred place but the carriages are really cool.

Hello @machiatta, the carriages look very well preserved. It is seen that they make an effort to maintain the care of heritage.

They have palace servants that maintain these carriages. It's definitely not an easy job but they did so well!

The carriages looks so super it's seems to jump back in time, what a nice museum🥰 I like to know royal stuffs also if I'm not a big fan.

It's indeed jumping back in time except they are still being used during celebrations and important holidays. This royal family in indonesia is one of the last monarch and I really hope they could live on longer. It somehow just works in that area.

Exactly the ttoe I see on movies, so this was once used as a means of transportation, before the onset of modern vehicles

Yeah! people were using that before they have cars

The world really goes beyond

Hello Mac! I have only seen one carriage here in Caracas, and I was very impressed by its elegance, but I have not been lucky enough to visit a museum like this one. Everything has impressed me a lot, I wonder if someday life will allow me to visit your country, because Hive has made me love many areas. For the time being I am content to add one more little digital journey through your photos...

Regarding the people who were not very nice, they really do sometimes get saturated with so many tourists, I hope they have better luck when they come back to visit the museum. I admire that you didn't take photo of the train, maybe I would have been taken out for trying 😅 A hug in the distance for you, happy weekend! 😘

Do you also have similar museum in caracas? I actually met some venezuelan here in Bali that they love it here/ We also have some venezuelan restaurants.

Thanks for checking out and it's really nice to read from you😊

I think it was on a quick visit before living in Caracas that I saw a carriage, but it was a train museum to which I have not returned, after reading you it occurs to me to return and see what old wonders there may be there.... Hey, no wonder you have Venezuelan restaurants there, we are everywhere working with a lot of heart. Thanks for the feedback Mac 😘

when the woman of my dreams proposes to marry me (it's you IvanaX @aibi93 😍😍), I want her to take me to the altar in one of these royal style carriages....

hahahaha just kidding the above 😅😅. Seriously, I like to see this kind of museums with topical elements of the past, you can appreciate the elegance throughout the design, reminds me a bit of Anastacia of The Romanovs

In my country is not the concept of monarchies but once watching conspiracy videos of The Princess Diana of Gales case, I noticed that there are many people fans of this Topic Royalty because youtube suggested me a channel focused on that and had many followers

untitled.gif

hahahaah yeah over here royalty is still a thing because the monarch is still reigning. I hope you can take your loved ones there hehe and thank you for checking out my post 😆

Wow those carriages look very beautiful, besides they are very well kept, I am very glad that in this country are preserved as treasure the old things, and I can imagine how it would be a marriage with these great cars of that generation, I'm glad you took your time to walk and relax your mind visiting a great museum.

It's definitely interesting but I've never seen the marriage/royal functions. Maybe one of these days I actually should do that. Thank you for checking out this post too 😊

That's a fascinating display! I love it when societies maintain a respect for their historical heritage.

Sometimes it's a really cool experience to just "play tourist" in our own back yard area!

Interesting photos! Always nice to "visit" new places on Worldmappin! :)

Yep! that's what I do as well, just browsing through different places around Worldmappin and we get to see awesome places 😊
