Many only care about the outcome, not the effort.

That should be written everywhere especially if you’re the ambitious kind and still seeking approval of others.

When you truly understand it well, you’ll stop hoping others to recognize the effort that goes into making something a reality. The hardest part of life is that there’s only two outcome, you either success or fail. You either get a pat on the back or are massively criticized. The moment you internalize that, nothing else truly matters and it gives you freedom to do whatever it takes to succeed or fail.

And don’t go hoping around to expect people will see you’ve been breaking your back to make something work. They won’t and never will.

This week I’ve lost 15 pounds in total and even my parents still don’t see the result, people that I meet day to day don’t see them. When I meet someone new, I am just that person that looks pretty heavier for the frame that I should be in. It was only me who recognized all the things I went through in order to get here. It wasn’t easy and I keep this weekly journal to remind myself that all these 15 pounds took me less than 90 days and it helped transform my life.

Somehow, that realization this week just reminded me that life rules should be simple when people only care about the outcome, not the effort. It felt so liberating and made me more confident for some reason. I used to get so caught up seeking approval of others and was in denial that people would recognize the effort I put in something. The thing is, they don’t and won’t. It was only me who’ll truly feel massive satisfaction towards something that I did.

At the moment, I feel a lot happier because I feel healthier but also getting closer to come back to what my goal weight is supposed to be. It feels a lot lighter to move around as well. I don’t think I have issues that I used to have. The best part is definitely getting to wear all the clothes I wasn’t able to wear 😀

I am not really getting too obsessed with weighing my food because due to wisdom teeth problems, I haven’t really had food and relied on liquid. I drink a lot of coffee and water that is always under 1200 calories/day. Since I also had this problem, I think it’s also why I managed to lose weight pretty easily as this week I haven’t had much cravings and pretty much been too lazy to eat.

When you focus on something, You’ll make progress

Sometimes while I think my progress is pretty slow, it’s really all about compound interest. I didn’t realize that I would lose all these pounds given I was the type of person who would naively google “ How to lose 10kg in a month”.

In the end, throughout this journey I’ve consistently lost 1 kg in a week with around 4kg or 8.8pounds/month. There are also weeks when I plateaued so that only makes it 3kg/month. But given all these were less than 90 days, I felt amazement sometimes. This year, we have 366 days and I’ve spent almost 90 days of that fraction to work towards something and I’ve seen my life transformed.

Can you believe it ? If you were focusing on a few thing just 90 days at time, how productive and better your life could be?

All these are unbelievable especially when you’re still not in the prime mindset to change. For someone like me, who's seen rock bottom and only wanted to badly change it, these felt magical. LIke for the first time ever, life has changed and it felt a little less hopeless. It’s like you’ve found some type of way to dig your way out from a very dark tunnel.

What will happen after this 90 days end?

I’ll still be on the same goal while adding something new to the list. It’s like I got this aha moment that I could do things every 90 days and that’s how I’ll be moving forward. I think 90 days is a great number for something to become a habit but also shows pretty achievable results or failure.

Just give it a try and see how things slowly changed in your life. If this doesn’t work, maybe you need to find a time frame that works for you.

For example, when you want to save up for something, in 90 days with just $1/daily, that’s already $90 and with that money, at least over here you could have choices to buy either Bonds, Crypto, or some type of new gadgets you like or even new clothes.

I know that we’re sold the idea of fast life where everything has to be quick but the thing is, fast life is only those with more capital and money than we do. If you’re still broke/broque, it’s ok to slow down and touch grass, you never know that you’re actually still living better than billions out there.

Anyway, see you next week.
