Portrait or Landscape

I know this is basic, but believe me, I never thought about all these before. I got so caught up with the idea that a picture has to be in landscape, as it just looks good like that on the thumbnail. The thing is, I recently realized there are pictures that are best when shot in portrait rather than landscape. When changing the two, the moods of the pictures changed, too.

When I am roaming around an urban area, most of the time, my pictures look good in portrait orientation, but in nature, landscape orientation seems to fit it best. I learned more about orientation from Adobe. The pictures taken below are the result of it all.

When both objects are taken in different orientations, there's even a difference in the mood and even the story evoked through it. With a portrait, a subject can feel more intimate. Somehow, even the first picture looks odd in the landscape orientation. From there, I observed that, basically, these things matter, and I need to care about them too.

These days, I am not often with my camera anymore. It’s put to rest for now while I think about how to make good use of it. So, I’ve been mostly roaming around with my phone, and I really think it’s not that bad. I’d even say the phone's results are way better than my camera's these days, so that’s why I am now with my phone more than my camera. I can't say much about newer models, mine was an older one and its ISO are also limited while this phone Pro feature and mode offers even 50 ISO. I haven't tested it on the moon but I am looking forward to when the weather is fine. Still, I appreciate both because they can offer different aesthetic and mood to the picture.

These pictures were taken at this coffee shop that holds a special place in my heart. It has become a beautiful industrial forest in the middle of the city. I loved going here because they serve the best matcha in town and have greenery that refreshes my eyes. I don't go there often anymore, as I'd prefer the comfort of my own space.

Anyhow, that's something new I learned from this hobby.
