A few years ago, I traveled with my family to a private beach club located on the Venezuelan central coast, during the Christmas holiday season.
This region suffered the ravages of nature when in December 1999, after many days of continuous and intense rain, thousands of tons of mud and rocks fell from the mountains belonging to the Cordillera de la Costa, sweeping away entire towns on their way to the sea, and taking the lives of many people.
The directors and owners of the club where I stayed with my family during those vacations, decided to recover the facilities, removing the mud that had affected the houses, common and recreational areas; in addition, they used many of the rocks that were transported by the avalanche, to make walkways, jetties and breakwaters, while others for their large size and weight, left them where they were found, becoming attractions of the club, as is the case of the pair of photographs that I share, where my two children, separately, pose next to a large rock.
As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original image to my satisfaction.
Hace algunos años atrás, viajé con mi familia a un club de playa privado ubicado en el litoral central venezolano, durante la temporada vacacional decembrina.
Esta región sufrió los embates de la naturaleza cuando en Diciembre de 1999 y luego de muchos días de lluvia contínua e intensas, miles de toneladas de lodo y rocas se desprendieron de las montañas pertenecientes a la Cordillera de la Costa, arrasando poblaciones enteras en su camino hacia el mar, y cobrando la vida de muchas personas.
Los directivos y socios propietarios del club donde me alojé con mi familia en aquellas vacaciones, decidieron recuperar las instalaciones, removiendo el lodo que había afectado las viviendas, áreas comunes y recreativas; además, usaron muchas de las rocas que fueron transportadas por el alud, para fabricar caminerías, malecones y rompeolas, mientras que otras por su gran tamaño y peso, las dejaron donde fueron encontradas, convirtiéndose en atractivos del club, como es el caso del par de fotografías que comparto, donde mis dos hijos, por separado, posan al lado de una gran roca.
Tal como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, usé las herramientas de edición que ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para intervenir las imágenes originales a mi entera satisfacción.
