Temples
During the most recent celebration of Holy Week, I was in the center of the city touring some temples as part of the activities and traditions of this religious date.
Among the churches I visited was Our Lady of San Juan de los Lagos, more commonly known as San Juan (St. John), which gives its name to the area where it is located in the south of the city.
This building dates from the late 18th century and was rebuilt years later after suffering serious damage during the earthquake of 1812, which affected much of the national territory, unfortunately does not have adequate maintenance, which is evident in waterproofing problems that disfigure its beautiful facade and its two front towers.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
Durante la más reciente celebración de la Semana Santa, estuve por el centro de la ciudad recorriendo algunos templos dentro de las actividades y tradiciones propias de esta fecha religiosa.
Entre las iglesias que visité, se encuentra la de la Nuestra Señora de San Juan de los Lagos, más comúnmente conocida como San Juan, y que dá nombre al sector donde se ubica al sur de la ciudad.
Esta edificación que data de finales del Siglo XVIII y que sería reconstruida años después luego de haber sufrido graves daños durante el terremoto de 1812, que afectó gran parte del territorio nacional, lamentablemente no cuenta con un mantenimiento adecuado, lo que se evidencia en problemas de impermeabilización que afean su hermosa fachada y sus dos torres frontales.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
