Christmas always comes early for us Filipinos every year. Here in the Philippines, when the Ber months arrive, you can hear Christmas Carols and see Christmas decorations in homes and almost everywhere else.
Our children had a very early Christmas treat last November 1. It was supposed to be Halloween but my husband's company made it a Christmas Around the World theme for all the employee's children.
Before the event, I was contacted by one of the employees to be part of the organizing team to which I agreed happily. It is always a pleasure to be of service. I was on the Food Committee. In charge of the event's food. With my husband's help, we decided to order food from Jollibee since it was a children's activity. The kids loved Jollibee. 😀
Department Booths
Since the theme was Christmas Around the World, each department was asked to create booths with the country assigned to them. The booths were USA, South Korea, Germany, Australia, and Hong Kong. The concept was to decorate each booth with how each of the countries celebrate Christmas.
My husband's department was assigned to South Korea.
I also helped decorate this booth. It is not much but I guess we did great. We had treats for the children.
This one here is the Australia booth. They had a tarp with a Kangaroo on it.
The United States of America booth.
The Germary booth.
The Hong Kong Booth.
Another part of the program was the talent presentation of the children with parents if they opted to in each department.
My children and I with the other kids in our department, sang Feliz Navidad while I played the Ukulele with another child. Our girls danced.
The following photos are the presentation of the other kids.
There were also games played by the children and parents.
Everyone had a lot of fun!
After the games, it was time to visit each booth. The booth in charge did a little explanation on how each of the countries celebrate Christmas. After the short introduction, the kids fell in line for the treats!
We started from the USA Booth!
The kids got cookies and pretzels as treats!
The next stop was Australia!
Then South Korea! The funny part here was that nobody took a photo of us with the children! And so we took a photo of ourselves without the kids and the treats! It was almost gone! LOL With me here is the wife of my husband's colleague. She dressed up in a South Korean costume to add a more South Korean touch.
Next stop, Germany!
At this juncture, the children's baskets (treats baskets) were full of goodies! Sugar overload is calling 😅 But they were happy!
The last stop was Hong Kong! The kids had fun with the chopsticks game. Wherein they need to transfer marbles from one bowl to another using chopsticks!
Watching their faces, it seemed they were worried about how to finish the task. 😀 But they enjoyed playing the game! And Yes! They got more treats after the game. The best part. 😂
Conclusion
It was indeed Christmas on Halloween! No scary costumes but we learned about how Christmas is celebrated in other countries. It was indeed a Kids Day Out Around the World!
By the way, we also had a Photo Booth!
