Hello to all my dear ASEAN HIVERIANS… I hope all here are doing great! HI! I’m Chinggay, 42 years old from Cebu City, Visayas Region, Philippines. I’m a neophyte to this platform, and today I just want to share with you WHO AM I? To begin with, I am a simple helpmate who has two preciouses, adored and treasured lovely kiddos with a pinnacle of ambitions that someday my not-so big family will be lifted out of poverty.
I was a teacher of a private school in the Philippines before, in view of the fact that the compensation was not so good, unlike the government teachers who are teaching in the government sector. My salary is not enough for our daily and personal needs. I dreamed and manifested that one day I could work abroad in order to help my family. At the present, I’m here now living in the south part of Thailand, the Province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. I teach kindergarten students as an English Secondary Language Teacher or known as ESL- Teacher in one of the private schools here in Nakhon Si Thammarat. At the beginning, it was not so easy because they couldn't understand me the way I talked, but through the help of Google translation, communication is so easy as a piece of cake.
Living alone is very difficult, especially when you are sick and nobody takes good care of you and nobody can help you aside from yourself and, most of all, when you are used to living with your family for several years. Being unhappy, lonely and having a mix of emotions that I can't express. I feel homesick and anxious. Every night I struggle to get sleep, but instead of entertaining kinds of emotions that haven't contributed nicely to my health, it comes into my mind that I need to divert them all into a positive one.
I actively engage on Facebook, TikTok, and Messenger. Through the help of Facebook, TikTok and Messenger, I lessened my homesickness, but seldom being unfriendly prevailed because I'm an introverted person. Scanning and visiting my Facebook Account, TikTok, Messenger every time I have a vacant time and, unexpectedly, I met my new online friends, and I wasn't expecting that one of them introduce me to this kind of platform, since I love expressing myself through writing.
