The temperature at sunrise this morning was was -11C /12F. It was a good morning to keep moving and not be carrying camera gear, so here are a few quick phone photos of a walk down along the Rock river.
The watercress growing in the spring stays green all winter long and gives me a bit of color when I look out the windows on the east side of my house.
The clouds were moving quickly and there was even a sudden brief snow squall that made it feel even colder out there.
This old oak tree was holding tight to a few brown leaves, but most of the trees are bare.
The steep bluff across the river has a segment of the Ice Age trail running along the face of it called "The Devil's Staircase" and sometimes I can see people hiking over there.
If you look closely you can see thst some of the snow was clinging to the leaves on the ground, but the clouds broke up and we even got some sunshine this afternoon! And the temperature got up to 27°F. It's still below freezing and more ice will be forming along the edges of the river.
