I was going to skip writing for this particular prompt but a recent happening gave me a rethink. There's no human who had never had a dream before, that I believe but my reason for almost skipping this prompt was because I tend not to remember most of my dreams. There are a few exceptions and recently, I had one which is worth sharing. Dream is our subconscious mind.
I can still remember my childhood days where we hear stories of our mates dreaming after a very playful day and we are told they play in their dreams too that it manifests in reality where their parents watches them as they display. It's funny to imagine how we think we are sound asleep but in the real world, we are displaying weird moves.
I grew up to believe that most of my dreams are as a result of what I had done the previous day especially if it was tasking mentally. I also tend to dream about something I am very curious about, even movies that I'm yet to finish can come to me in the dream lol. Sometimes, I have the dreams of what I'm worried about, either good or bad depending on how I thought of it before sleeping.
I don't know if it happens to just me, there are times I dream and see myself falling from a height that I intentionally climbed because I was confident I'll land safely. Somehow, I wake up with a scare that I'm still falling only to see I am well positioned on my bed, it's a very funny and regular one with me. I don't even know where to start about nightmares but I do have them too.
One time, I had a nightmare where I witnessed a murder and had to keep running so I don't get killed too. Even in that subconsciousness, I was praying and hoping I'll wake up fast to avoid getting killed. The race took way longer in the dream when I woke up to think about it. It's scary how I remember a lot of those nightmares and few of the good dreams but never the extreme.
Do I remember my dreams? Yes, but not all and I could say the ones I remember are lesser than the ones I don't. People do say we dream everyday but we only remember some days own because of our brain limit or power. I don't know if I should believe that but I do know I have had good and bad dreams that I remember some. Mysteriously, some have happened in the reality.
There is this thing with my dreams that I've been confirming over time since I was old enough to understand that some of my dreams are remembered and even happen in real life. They tend to go the opposite of what happened in the dream or very much altered. No matter how hard I try not to believe that it's just a dream, I keep hoping that it never happens when it's a bad one.
I could say life is made up of the conscious, subconscious and unconscious too. The subconscious is our dreams where we can only be in when we are asleep (a state of unconsciousness but breathing of course). We're not living if we never dream, I don't believe when people say they never dream, it's just that they don't remember and it only makes sense we do.
