Hello everyone Let's meet again And today I'm not going anywhere, so I want to cook my own food at home. And the food I want to make today is And today's menu seems ordinary but it is very special to me. It's "Pad Rra Phow."

Holy Basil actually originates from India and is believed to be a sacred plant in India. Some articles say that Holy Basil is a plant that is very close to Lord Vishnu. Because it was the incarnation of his queen. But it is not said that this plant is a representative of the gods. But it is a sacred plant of Anadia. In some places, basil is grown for worship in the belief that it will help ward off evil. Some people often wake up around their homes or temples. This is a brief history of Holi Basil. In addition to the history of properties, there are many benefits.

This menu is Thai food. Which is very popular with both Thai people and foreigners. Because this menu is delicious and easy to make. And ever since I came here, I often cook Thai food and this menu is no different. Of course, the main character of this menu must definitely be basil. But basil here is different from Thailand because in Thailand, if it's basil, they use Holy Basil.

And it was not easy to find this basil here, so I had to grow it. I brought the seeds from Thailand. And actually started planting, planting last year, but at that time the weather was cold because it was close to winter, so it didn't happen. And this time we prepared the soil and started planting in June. Until now, it's grown enough to pick basil leaves and use them for cooking.

And what's special is that this is my first time using basil leaves that grow here to cook. I'm very excited. Because the smell of it is hot. It's different from the basil here. And the menu that I made was Pad Kra Phow, a delicious Thai dish. I picked basil leaves from the garden where I planted them. Then wash and clean thoroughly. Then it is stir-fried and added to meat. Actually, basil can be used in many dishes. This is only a part.

How to do it, I probably won't tell you now. Because actually the menu I made today was in a hurry. Because I have to prepare rice packets for my boyfriend to go to work. And aside from stir-fried basil, there's also stewed beef. And what you can't miss is omelet. If anyone has eaten basil fried rice with omelet or fried eggs, I guarantee that they go together very well and are very delicious. Once I see this, I really want to eat it again.

Those basil leaves look great, so good that you were able to harvest them after a lot of hard work to grow them and make that delicious looking food 😋

Yea, I’m waiting it for long time ☺️ Thank you 🙏

Your phat kaphrao looks very yummy.

Many ways to write the name of this food in Latin, not sure which one is the best... I use "phat kaphrao".

Awesome that you decided to grow holy basil. If you have this herb, you can quickly get an original and super delicious Thai dish.

And this is what I eat daily in a restaurant in Laos:

My friend in Thailand, however, told me that he hates onion in phat kaphrao... But I like it :)

Yes, the name is similar and also some ingredients. For me I don’t like to put other vegetables also 🤣

😄
