First come the cranes, then come the towers. Calgary is a boom and bust town due to being a city that has for decades relied on oil booms for growth. That has gradually changed as the city becomes more diverse, however, the one thing that seems to always be there is some kind of construction crane. Even in slow times there will still be a few to be found. The city has grown both up and out, now it seems we are focused more on density and having taller buildings. It all makes for some picturesque opportunities whenever I walk around downtown, always something being built up and changed.
