Getting this close to a robin, I knew there likely wasn't much time before it would fly off. I am not sure if it had noticed me yet, as I kind of came up from behind and below. I knew if I changed my settings too much, I would blow the chance, but luckily my exposure was in a good range. What really helped with these shots was that I was able to get a little glimmer of light in the robin's eye. Just enough catch light to make it stand out and add some life to the shots.
