Yesterday a stranger asked
Do you love animals?
I watched the chipping chickens in front of me and shook my head
No drop of hate
No drop of love
Just another creation to behold
I said.
Yesterday a stranger asked
Would you love to own a pet?
I watched the flying pigeons in the sky
Not one hate
Only one love
But it's long dead, so never again
I said.
Today I saw a picture
A cat wrapped in a muffler
With eyes that sparkled like the sun
Still no hate
But a little love
A little desire to try again
And love one again
I think.
What I see: A brown furred cat wrapped in a red muffler.
What I feel: a longing to own a cat or any other pet again.
