No worries we here at the @monstercrusher blog will give you a crash course. SPT is a second lawyer token on the Hive Blockchain utilized on the blog front-end known as Splintertalk.io. All created and curated content located on Splintertalk.io has the chance to earn the main Hive Blockchain currencies known as the Hive Token and HBD. As an added bonus for creating and curating content on Splintertalk.io you will also be given the opportunity to earn the SPT Token. You can also earn the SPT Token by creating or curating content that has the tag(s) #spt or #splinterlands on them regardless of what Hive Blockchain front-end you are using. So now that you know what SPT is, why should you care? Why should you collect it? To that I say you are asking the wrong question. The question you should be pondering is Why Not?. If you are a blogger and like blogging about the Splinterlands game and aren't using the tags #spt or #splinterlands you are doing your content a disservice. Not only will you be earning SPT on top of the Hive Tokens and HBD your content might earn but its likely your blog post will get more views from those who also use the #splinterlands and #spt tags. For me the decision is easy. Create amazing Splinterlands content, use the correct tags and earn all three tokens. What can be done with the SPT Token?
The SPT token is a blog token and its main use is to be staked. The more SPT one has staked the more influence they have within the Splinterlands/ Splintertalk.io blogging community. The higher the amount of SPT you have staked the higher your SPT vote value. There's also a market on the official Splintertalk.io site that has amazing NFT artwork for sale (collectors items only, not playable in-game). SPT is listed on the Hive Dex's known as TribalDex and Hive-Engine. Currently there isn't allot of trade value but @monstercrusher has taken a litking to the SPT Token and has decided we want to use our earned liquid HBD/HIVE Token rewards to purchase SPT directly from the sell walls. It won't be much but it will put some Hive Tokens in the wallets of those who reach our budget. So get to posting and earning SPT, list them for trade or stake them. There's value to be had.
