Today is the day to expand my Chaos Legion card collection. As I mentioned in other posts, I decided that the Chaos Legion edition will be the first edition in which I will max out the cards. I chose it because the cards in this edition are currently the cheapest and because they are still very powerful in both Modern and Wild formats.
To expand my Chaos Legion card collection, I have the option of buying the cards directly from the market or buying packs and opening them. My main focus is to buy the cards directly from the market because that way I won't have to rely on luck and most of the time I will get a much better price than I would get by buying packs. However, I like opening packs, so in addition to buying cards from the market, I will also open packs sometimes because I find it fun and I like to test my luck.
Today will be the day to open packs and I decided to buy 3 Chaos Legion packs from Hive Engine.
I paid 2.54 Swap.Hive for the 3 Chaos Legion packs, each one cost the equivalent of $0.45 in Hive's current value.
After purchasing the packs I transferred them to my Splinterlands account and I already have the Alchemy Potions and Legendary Potions ready, so I just need to open the packs and hope I get lucky enough to get some great cards.
The Alchemy Potion increases the player's chances of getting Gold Foil cards.
The Legendary Potion increases the player's chances of getting Legendary cards.
This time I was lucky enough to open the packs and get a higher price than I paid for the packs, so opening packs today was the right choice.
Considering the market value, the cards I got in these 3 packs cost a total of $1.43 and the price I paid for the 3 packs on Hive Engine was $1.35, so I can consider myself lucky even if the difference is small since every penny counts and also because I had fun opening the packs. But what would really make me happy is to get some Gold Foil legendary card because then I could sell it and buy a large amount of packs to open, but considering my luck with Loot Chests I highly doubt that will happen, but I will keep hoping that at some point I will have that luck.
The good thing is that the legendary card I got was Scorch Fiend and it was one of the cards that was on my shopping list so I can now discard it from the list because I intend to have it only at level 1 since its main function is to be a punching bag that doesn't cost mana so I don't think I'll need to leave it at maximum level.
