It's a few weeks until Christmas. My mom has already come to stay with me in my home and she appears to be well prepared and doesn't seem like she is going back home anytime soon. It would be a lovely thing to have every member of my family with me in this Christmas season. That's one beautiful thing I know and it continues ringing in my heart. According to my mom, very soon my dad will be joining us. It's just that his work hasn't given him much of the time he needed to start putting things in order. I myself have been thinking of a way to free him from those tasks, but on the other hand, I understand that it's good for older people, especially those in Grey hair, to have something to do which keeps their mind and body busy.
That's the only thing that has kept me from stopping him from work but I know that by next week he will be stopping for the year. I've already made a collection of different old school songs which I know he loves so much and enjoy playing a lot even from when I was little. Many years have passed since I graduated from the University and even now. More years are going by, yet it's been very long. I heard my dad playing those old school songs he loved listening to. In fact I don't know, it seems nowadays he's more into watching movies than listening to music yet I in my heart that him being into movies doesn't mean he won't still rock to his golden old songs which may have been attached lots of memories to, because I know that sometimes when we are together and a good old song comes up on the radio his face will brighten up and even some time I'll hear him say “Ha!” Will smiles all over his face and he begins singing along or shaking his head little by little if he's driving.
On the list of his good old school songs include:
Greatest love of all by Whitney Houston
This is one of my favorite songs in the collection.
Everything I do by Bryan Adams
I grew up listening to this song with my dad and watching the music video.
We are the world by Michael Jackson and friend
Decades ago when i first watched this video, what intrigued me was the ability of many musicians to come together and make this song unique as it is even with their different voices and ways of expression
Sacrifice by Elton John
This is a cool song i love back then for its uniqueness.
These are just a few among his first set in his collection.
Dilemma by Nelly and Kelly
Dad usually loves listening to his songs and watching whats going on in the music video, i feel by that way he gets into it really well.
Sweet home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Dad somerimes will start telling stories from things that happened in the past while listening to his favorite songs.
You'll never walk alone by Gerrymandering and peacemaker
For sure dad has memories attached to every song he's listened to back then.
Rich girl by Daryl Hall
Crying in the rain _ a-ha
I found this few from youtube but there's still one I'm yet to find its original music video. If I really want to make this Christmas a memorable one for everyone, I know music will add to the magic. Really I know the type of song each and everyone in my family loves listening to. Now that the family will soon be uniting again in my place I think it's a perfect time to serve everyone a good dose of the songs they love listening to and for that to happen, I think I'll be needing a mix of everyone's favorite songs.
I've thought of hiring a professional for the dj work but being considerate I know that many people will love to be celebrating with their families and not to be in another man's home making them happy and leaving his or her loved ones behind.
My final conclusion is to visit a studio now where I'll get a mix of everyone's favorite songs and store it safely in my music card ahead of Christmas.
If I really want to make this Christmas a memorable one for everyone I know this is going to be one good thing I needed to work on. For my dad I know that each time he starts his day with good oldies songs his face will appear bright for the rest of the day because I do observe really closely and have watched his face.
Babys in the house are always thrilled to dance along with their grandfather whenever they see him raise a leg and move his body to the tune of a good music. It really works like magic seeing the quick transformation of children, from being moody a minute ago to dancing with their grandparents all happy with their teeth all visible the next minute.
I must say the magic works on me too because I've noticed that anytime my dad starts rocking to a song, my mom will be next to start dancing with him I'm the most funny way but honestly before I realize it, I will already be smiling and my mom is the type of person who loves to persuade you into dancing by coming close to where you are. Whether you are looking busy sitting or standing. She will come and be dancing very close to you, dancing around you until you're force to laugh or join in. That's the kind of family I have. I pray that God will make this Christmas season the best for us and for everyone who truly wants the best out from from this season.
Thank you very much for stopping by to read my post and merry Christmas In advance.
