Durov Indicted: Fight for Digital Freedom

in #hive-14008418 days ago

With the Telegram CEO being indicted in France, this raises concern about the Telegram app and every other infrastructure that's built around the app. Ton is one great blockchain, and many other projects are also on the Ton blockchain that are yet to launch.

Imagine what would happen if shit hits the fan with Durov’s case. Honestly, I do not have much to say because nowadays we all seem to know the truth—or rather, let’s say the intentions behind most of these cases.

During the lockdown, it was Facebook, and even though we are just getting to know about that now, it still doesn’t remove the fact that a whole lot of information surrounding the COVID-19 virus were all lies and propaganda meant to keep the masses in a kind of prison for the time being.

Interestingly, it worked. And even if it didn’t work that much for the masses, we were still able to find our way. Thankfully, this was what brought about work from home, and ever since then, people have been doing their job without having to move around.

So, with all the government sanctions and lawsuits that are flying around, I think at this point we need to be careful of where we leave our data print, as it is now the new gold mine that the government wants to use to either control us or coerce us unconsciously as they see fit.

Just imagine if the man had opened the door for the government to come into the Telegram app without us knowing. Not that we have something to hide—although many do—but to some extent, I think free speech is something that the government should respect.

Yet they don’t even care about that or what free speech means, only to disguise their actions in the form of catching criminals who launder money, whereas they themselves are the ones calling the shots.

Hopefully, Durov gets to be free completely, because presently he’s just released on bail and is not allowed to leave the country. I don’t know if that’s a win, but we’ll see what happens with time.

Good night
