Well this season has been a bit of a shocker with lots going on and some big changes happening. Do we also see an uptick of players bots back in the game?
The overall vibe is that alt season is here and this with only a less than 5% drop in Bitcoin dominance. Everybody is ready to party and been waiting so long for this. Has it also reached Splinterlands?
This season my ranking was just 3820 vs 3260 last month, and I earned 87k glint compared to 106k last season. I was renting between 25-50k of SPS, which seems to bring enough glint in, although it would be nice to get more.
I still go ahead with my major chests strategy and openeing 86 this time around. After these are exhaused, I am opening rare cards to try and max them out.
I did not get any legendaries and only 1 epic this time which is disappointing. I did grab quite a few merits which helps my Glad collection at least though.
I didn't pull anything too interesting in the glad cards, a few gold foils which is always nice, but nothing that I am really seeking or using.
My progress ticks up very slowly in my glad collection. +1% common, +1% rare and +1% epics. No movement on my legendaries this time around! They are quite hard to pull and nothing for a little while here.
I keep grinding away though and hope I can get them maxed out at some point.
My soulbound rebellion cards progressed ok, but only +3% on my common cards and 6% on my rare cards. Still quite some to grind out. The epic cards seem to be the key cards to get so I hope to finish rare and move onto epic as soon as I can.
New Battle Layout
It took me a little by surprise that suddenly the battle screen had changed. The buttons moved from where I was used to and suddenly nothing fitted properly in the browser like before.
As usual with the team, there was no way to select the old way still or any notification that the new screens would drop. I really like how they just do what they think is best without checking with the community whether they like it or not.
As you can see, the game doesn't fit properly on your browser and those with high res monitors need to adjust everything to get the game to work and see the buttons. They are above which is just annoying and doesn't feel right.
I am not keen on it and immediately switched to a bot in wild and doubt I will play ranked again now. With the team focusing on making new game modes for bots, it is probably inconsequential now anyhow. The game will move further towards and nft farming type game than a human card playing game.
Therefore I have adopted my strategy and will only bot in wild and play guilds so long as I have the fancy. I will stick with just playing soulbound cards and buy only cards near their burn value or under.
This month I had some fun with Usut, who is part of the Chaos Legion reward card set. He is probably my 2nd favorite card in the game. If you get the right ruleset, he is brilliant to use.
It is a soulbound card and I was lucky to get to max level which was a relief. I love all the abilities and how the heal and bloodlust with reverse speed ruleset can help him go on the rampage!! I was not a big death deck player in the beginning, but now it is one of my favorite decks.
Market Snapshot
MOONvember is closing today and in the last 2 weeks, Bitty has gone from $91k back to test the ATH at $99k. It is looking pretty strong and ready to break that $100k barrier and head off to new highs.
However, Bitcoin dominance has fallen off a little, by nearly 5% and there is a sense of euphoria in the market as the long awaited alt-season will get started. How has the Splinterlands eco-system been doing?
Splinterlands tokens have generally just been flat. SPS has managed to keep the $0,01 handle so far, but it is far from being support by the looks of it. What has been the star performer is Hive. It is now the comeback kid and looks to try and retake its $0,30 handle that it lost after the FUD hit the crypto market in Korea and Hive took a beating. It has slowly been climbing its way back up there.
Still it isn't a great performer for holders unless they were stacking more and took advantage of Hive in the teens.
Thats all for this update.
How was your season?
