Why It's Impossible to Eliminate the Middle Class

We keep hearing this, don't we? About how it is some big plan by the matrix or government, or something like that. That there is a big plan to eliminate the middle class. That they only want there to be two classes, the rich and the poor.

Today we would not go into why this might be anyone's intention or what they stand to gain from something like this if it can be made to happen. Today we'd rather look at the fact that it is impossible to eliminate the middle class.

Why

First of all what is poor and what is rich?

Poor
No, not philosophically, but economically.

A poor person should be someone who can't afford to rent or own a comfortable house with more than one room, can't feed himself three square meals a day for a whole month, can't keep a proper car, and can't pay their bills comfortably.

-Income was not mentioned in the definition above because that is not a factor on its own, whether your income makes you rich or poor depends on where you live._

Rich
A rich person should be someone who can do all of the above comfortably and still have enough left to go on trips and afford a lot more luxury items comfortably.

Middle Class
Someone in the middle of these two. They can afford all the things the poor person cannot afford, but cannot afford the extra trips and luxuries the rich can afford. At least not consistently. Sparingly, then.

Impossible to Eliminate this last Class

So how is it possible that there would be a time when there would be people who can afford a house, their bills, and consistent meals, but can't afford extra luxury?

That is a permanence that cannot be tampered with except there is a dictatorship or something of the sort.

If the prices of goods and the economy get so bad and the current middle class all becomes poor, you know what would happen? A lot of the rich who aren't ultra-rich would simply become the new middle class and the ship would keep sailing.

If things get bad again, the ultra-rich would become the middle class and keep it moving. The guys who were above the ultra-rich, let's call them the hyper ultra rich would be the new rich. And so on. Keeping it moving.

Also remember that chaos and a tanking economy also produce opportunities for people to become rich, also a lot of people won't take poverty without a fight no matter what the economy is like. So as the people above the ladder are falling, new ones would keep climbing up.

After the current middle class falls, before the rich can be touched some of the fallen would have risen. Before the ultra-rich can be touched the same would happen for the previously fallen. Etc.

At the end of the day, there will always be those who have not, those who have enough, and those who have more than enough.
