For the love of the game.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. You must agree with me when I say football is one of those things that comes with a mixed feeling. Today the team you support is making you all happy, and tomorrow the same team is causing you pain and extreme sadness, making you very vulnerable to other team fans giving them the room to do whatever they choose with you 😂, a Manchester United fan and Chelsea fans will understand this better. As a Manchester United fan, the day Chelsea loses, you become boss over their fan and talk to them anyhow, but the day your own team decides to make a joke of you too, they will return the favor.

Football is one of those things that can ruin a person's mental health. It is very hard to predict, as when you are so confident your team will win, they will leave you in awe at the end of 90 minutes. The funny thing is that no matter how sad football has made us, we cannot stop watching it, and at the same time, we cannot stop supporting the team. No matter how sad your team has made you, you still cannot let them go. Love for football is like a toxic relationship; sometimes it's like these players don't care about their fans mental health and they just play below your expectations and ruin your day, and if you let it, then your week too will be ruined because the talk goes on and on until they have a chance to play again and clear the air by winning. One thing I have learned is that football is very addictive; once you start loving the game, there is no going back.

When it comes to football, we have all had those moments where we smiled at the end of 90 minutes and moments where after the final whistle we felt like it was the end of the world. There are also moments where you have to save yourself the embarrassment and shame, and you run away before the final whistle is blown. One thing we all had to learn from football is that you cannot win it all; you win some and you lose some, but pray your team wins more than they lose. Once you accept that you cannot win it all, then probably your team losing will not make you so sad.

I have had so many football moments, some of which I still remember vividly, like it happened yesterday, one of which is the World Cup final between France and Argentina in 2022. I am a Ronaldo fan, so I was really rooting for France so Messi will not win a World Cup trophy before Ronaldo. For every time Argentina scored, my mental health deteriorated, and for every time France scored, my mental health recovered, so it was a mixed feeling until the final whistle was blown. This minute you are happy, and the next minute you are feeling some kind of way.

@offia66 I have seen several guys feel the same way about football especially those into betting.🙂 I also watch football once in a while so I get your feeling to an extent but it is what it is, games are not predictable. As a wrestling fan several matches ended in shocks, that's the interesting part of sport.

Nice writeup 👍👍👍

Those into betting feel it more, both team you support and money loss will cause you sadness.
