My dream job and I are distance apart.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Growing up as kids, we all had dreams, some very big and made us look greedy and some just attainable, but in all, you cannot blame us as we were just kids and did not really know what life was all about. I doubt if there is anyone out there who did not have a lot of dreams as a kid, but growing up to realize that making your dreams come true means you must be willing to go through thick and thin to see it happen really does hurt. If only we were informed a lot earlier that making dreams come true requires a lot of work, maybe we wouldn't have dreamt so big or even made a lot of promises to our parents.

Till date, I still remember some promises I made to my parents, and seeing them get old and not fulfilling that promise kind of scares me. The way kids see life is entirely different from what life really is. As a kid, I did admire adulthood, but today I wish I was informed about what adulthood comes with; maybe I would not have admired it at all. As kids, we thought life was a smooth sail, but now as grownups, we have come to understand that life has nothing to do with a smooth sail. There will be storms that will push you off course, but it is left for you to find your way or stay where the storm puts you. If only life was a smooth sail, then we would not have to work so hard, and sometimes I feel like the country I was born into makes life even more difficult.

As for my dream job, I had many in mind as a kid, but one I had so much passion for. My mom was a nurse before she resigned, so I used to follow her to the hospital where she works, and that way she could keep an eye on me, and from there I fell in love with the medical profession. The nurses and doctors then calling me "small doctor" even made things worse as I kept dreaming of becoming a big doctor one day. I kept saying to myself back then that even if I don't study medicine and surgery, then I could settle for a paramedical course as I only wanted to follow in my mom's footsteps.

Funny how things had to change after I grew up. Sometimes I wish I pursued the dream of working in the medical field, but I am still glad for the field I am in currently. I wanted to do medicine or just work in the medical field, but I am currently studying agricultural and bioresources engineering, which is in no way related to what I had in mind but not bad. My dream job and I are far apart; sometimes it hurts me, but I know everything happens for a reason.

No one told us what It is all about to make a dream come true, yet we have to continue sailing and be grateful for what we become.
