The last time I went to Jizan fish market was 2022. It was before my vacation to the Philippines. We already have fish market in Sabya where we can buy fresh fish that's why we never travel to Jizan anymore.
One morning, I told my madam that I want to go there by bus. I miss watching some people hauling fishes on their shoulder but I reached their, no men doing like what I saw before. I need to go there earlier.
First Trip to Jizan by Bus
Going to Jizan, I was not the only passengers. I saw students who went to the Nasser University. We roamed around the city and I saw some places I never seen before. It was avoid trip just watching the entire Jizan's commercial and industrial area.
These were my random photography I took along the way. While the bus was moving toward the city, I kept myself on taking picture to share here in hive. I did it before reaching the fish market. There are a lot of changes after 2 years without going Jizan. It is just 45 minutes drive from y workplace but now that all the children are big and have their own family, I don't like going with them. I love just staying at home is better.
Inside The Fish Market
I didn't find what I was expected to see the men hauling the fishes on their shoulder but I saw a lot of fresh fishes that I loved. Squid is all I miss for a very long time ago. So I bought 3kilos. Shrimps? I didn't buy it's so expensive now because Saudi people learn to eat shrimps. Before, they didn't buy it.

Crabs? I didn't buy it. I am afraid for my health. But when I was younger, I ate 10 big crabs. One of my friend ate 20 pieces though she has hypertension. She was younger than me. She died leaving her 2 years old son. She was a physical therapist here in the general hospital. She was not sick but after eating lunch, her hypertension attacked and stole her life wirhout reaching the hospital.Her husband told us that, she was getting angry when he advised her to stop eating. 20 bugs crabs became deadly that day.
What the funny thing happened, the supervisor didn't allow me to ride the bus with fish. I went to the grocery store and wrapped the fishes and boxed it in a small cartoon. Done! I got home the fishes in a box.
