Today we are talking about a very controversial issue or Topic, which is about Animal Testing, is it a good thing to do, or is the practice unethical.
Animal Testing: this refers to using animals for research purposes. This topic has caused several heated arguments to the general public, especially to animal lovers and pet owners.
But let's take a deeper dive on the term Animal Testing.

Animal testing, or using animals in research can be defined as when scientists test new medicines, products, and treatments.
Most of the time, scientists do this to see if things like drugs, cosmetics, and medical devices are safe and effective. This practice also helps in studying diseases to find new ways to treat them.
In a layman term, animal testing means the act of testing a particular substance, usually medicine on animals to see if there will be a reaction on the animal, this is usually done before being used in Humans. I hope my definition makes sense.

Let's look at the various types of Animal Testing.

There are many types of things being used to test Animals, the goal of this testing is to see how safe humans can use such substance.

Types of Animal Testing
(1.)Product testing: this is a type of testing on animals, usually tested out consumer goods like things used to clean the body or clothes. For example detergents or body soaps and many other products for cleaning.

(2.) Toxicity testing: this is a type of testing on animals, usually tested out to see if chemicals and cosmetics are safe, for example cosmetic products like body creams, skin products and mango other beauty products.

(3.) Biomedical research: this is a type of testing on animals, usually tested out medicines, so as to know how safe new treatments would react to people after they use them, this is to help people stay healthy.

(4.) Education and training: this is a type of testing on animals, usually tested out Using animals in schools for training future vets and doctors.

Having known all the Reasons behind the Use of Animals for Testing would we call the practice good?

My Verdict on animal testing goes thus;
Animal Testing is great if the intention is for the benefit of Humanity, and also the animals are not abused and not going to extinction.
For me I am good with animal testing if the animals being in used are not being maltreated and the animals are still very much plenty enough.

What if there are other methods of Testing products and Medication evaluation of drugs?

If there are alternatives to Animal Testing, then I would strongly recommend it and push for the halt of using animals for testing.

Honestly for me God created Animals for our use, feeding, protection and shelter.
Take for example the animals we kill in their million all around the world, just for feeding: Chicken, Goat , pigs e.t.c. can't be considered as unethical, this is because we need them for meat.
Also for protection like Dogs etc too.

The bottom line is that we can't use Human being, when we have animals for our use. The good news is that science keeps advancing this gives room for many other alternatives in the nearest future.
