I don't think Baseball is a really famous sport. It's like basketball but rated lower in terms of popularity. At first,I didn't really like the idea of the sport. I mean I didn't like it. It had similar references to lacrosse and to me lacrosse made much more sense than baseball. I think this anime opened my eyes to that. Any sport is incredible,the main thing is the fondness. The likeness and want for the sport. It's like watching something you love and then finding out someone hates what you extremely like. Leaving you in shock not awe.

Like I said and probably @Tegoshei said, they're a lot of pairable characters in sport anime. That's why there's always a lot of shopping pf characters.

The attention to detail in the players' movements and the way the games are portrayed draws you into the action. You can almost feel the adrenaline rush as the stakes get higher, and the tension builds with each minutes and this is one of the thing I love about sport animes.
The soundtrack also deserves a shout-out. It's really good.
However, like any series, "Ace of the Diamond" has its quirks. Some might find the pacing a bit slow in the beginning, as it spends time fleshing out character backstories. Although,I didn't really complete the anime,it was really good. It kept me on my toes with anxiety and expectations when I was watching it. It was really wholesome and I really enjoyed it.
