El pasado 18 de Julio tuve el tan esperado concierto junto al Ensamble de Percusión Venus en la Sala Simón Bolívar, ubicada en el Centro de Acción Social por la Música, una espacio que siempre me ha gustado por su bella arquitectura y por el renombre que tiene, siendo uno de mis escenarios favoritos en Venezuela.
Recuerdo que de adolescente, cuando estaba empezando a escuchar música clásica, empecé a ver videos de las orquestas más importantes del país y me di cuenta que todas se presentaban allí, la primera vez que entré como espectadora me impactó mucho ver el diseño de los asientos y la primera vez que escuché el órgano no lo podía creer, es una sala épica.
Las primera vez que toqué en esta sala fue en el 2018 con la Orquesta Juvenil de Rock Sinfónico Simón Bolívar, y ahora 6 años después tengo el gusto de volver a tocar en esta sala junto a otra agrupación de El Sistema llamada ‘Ensamble Venus', un ensamble de percusión orquestal que es conformado y dirigido por mujeres.
El concierto fue super variado y las chicas del Ensamble Venus se lucieron tocando piezas de percusión afro-venezolana, adaptaciones a percusión de obras de Astor Piazzolla y Gerry Weil, y obras más modernas que incluían batería, de hecho, la pieza que interpreté incluye un pequeño solo de batería el cual disfruté mucho hacer, pues nunca antes había soleado en esta sala.
Prometo que pronto les traeré un video recap del concierto para que puedan ver el proceso de montaje y escuchar la presentación del ensamble, pero mientras lo voy editando los dejo con estas fotos que espero les gusten. Hasta la próxima!

Last July 18 I had the long awaited concert with the Venus Percussion Ensemble at the Simon Bolivar Hall, located in the Social Action Center for Music, a space that I have always liked for its beautiful architecture and for the reputation it has, being one of my favorite venues in Venezuela.
I remember as a teenager, when I was beginning to listen to classical music, I started watching videos of the most important orchestras in the country and I realized that all of them performed there, the first time I entered as a spectator I was very impressed to see the design of the seats and the first time I heard the organ I could not believe it, it is an epic hall.
The first time I played in this hall was in 2018 with the Orquesta Juvenil de Rock Sinfónico Simón Bolívar, and now 6 years later I have the pleasure of playing again in this hall together with another group of El Sistema called 'Ensamble Venus', an orchestral percussion ensemble that is conformed and directed by women.
The concert was super varied and the girls of Ensamble Venus did a great job playing Afro-Venezuelan percussion pieces, percussion adaptations of works by Astor Piazzolla and Gerry Weil, and more modern pieces that included drums, in fact, the piece I played included a small drum solo which I really enjoyed doing, as I had never played a solo in this hall before.
