Happy Friday to all the animal lovers in the #HivePets Community. Today I'm feeling inspired, so I'm bringing you a special post. I think I've talked a little bit about the nicknames and names of my pets, but I haven't told you the origin of them. That's what I'm going to talk about today, maybe it will help you to choose the name of your next pet.
🙈 The post is a bit long, I apologize for that, but I was inspired.
In my family, every time we adopt a puppy, we usually decide quickly on the names of each one, taking into account the previous ones we have had and sometimes honoring a deceased pet by repeating the name because we miss it so much. But in the case of Drako and Yara, the choice was difficult.
This is because their personality was different from all the pets we have had, they arrived full of energy, wanting to bite everything and eat the world (literally because they were always hungry 🤣). Anyway, with them it took us a few days to decide because the truth was as if no name would fit them. So I start the story.
𝙵𝚘𝚛 𝚈𝚊𝚛𝚊
Choosing her name was tricky. She is the most playful of them all and is always jumping around. I wanted a name that was representative of her personality and I didn't feel like repeating names. I wanted something new, unique, and special for her.
As it happens, a few days before they arrived home, I watched a movie called Yara (very good, by the way) and I said this is it. My mom was undecided, but when she learned the meaning of the name, she loved it. According to the movie, it means little butterfly and the one who had that name in the movie was a dancer, she liked to dance, and jump and was a very active girl.
But, (there's always a but), according to the fabulous website of Behind The Name, uA highly reliable website to know the origin of any name, indicates that the name Yara is of Arabic origin and means Friend/Helper. And well, that's my Yara. She is the helper and faithful friendly companion of my dear daddy 🤣.
She is also my faithful roommate when I feel sick, I have a headache or I'm in one of those emotional slumps, she is there glued to me like in the picture. And well, I nicknamed her Little Tail, but as a social media tag I call her #YaraTheWookiee because she sounds like Chewbacca when she wants something 🤣.
𝙵𝚘𝚛 𝙳𝚛𝚊𝚔𝚘
When he arrived, he was a super sad puppy, he was like in shock and it was hard for him to believe that he had his food dish, besides two fixed meals a day. I remember that it was the hardest thing for me to teach them to eat separately and to respect each other's plates. Yara is very greedy and always wants to eat her brother's food.
She didn't eat, she swallowed 🤣 everything she saw and so she made her brother quite hungry, so Drako arrived with a submissive personality and also more malnourished than his sister. Their sizes were quite different for being the same age. Drako was always smaller than his sister.
To choose his name, my parents wanted one that would be like the protector of the house. For this, I thought of the names of the dragons of Daenerys Targaryen because I am a big fan of Game of Thrones, but the simplest one to pronounce, i.e. Drogon sounded ugly to me.
Like he was a drug addict. We're in Venezuela and names like that we joke about, so I thought of Draco from Draco Malfoy and the Harry Potter saga of which I'm also a fan, and well, that was the one chosen. My parents liked it because the meaning indicates that it's Dragon, terrifying fire-breathing beast and Protector. My mom preferred to use Drako with a K, I don't know why and that's how it stayed. And on social media, I call him #DrakoCinnamonRoll because his tail is rolled up like a cinnamon roll 😋.
𝙵𝚘𝚛 𝙿𝚎𝚐𝚞𝚒
In the case of Pegui, who gave her the name was my dad 🤣. While she was in the street, my mom and I used to call her Blonde, but my dad seeing that she was so attached to us, especially with me, started calling her Pegui for sticky as a chewing gum 🤣.
We all call her Pegui-Pegui and she loves her name, she always wags her tail every time she hears it because she knows we are talking to her. And even though I don't know exactly how old she is, she is the most serious and cautious in the house.
I have rarely seen her play with her adopted siblings and she spends most of her time with me, accompanying me in silence. I see her as the little fox in that story called The Little Prince. That character is my favorite in the story and every time I see her, I think of that character.
She stole my heart completely. I dare say she is my favorite 🙈 although I love them all equally because their personalities are different, she is special to me because of her past with her abusive former owners. She is the one I have had the hardest time attaching to the family. Although I haven't shared much with her on social media, I use the hashtag #PeguiPeguiPeiPei for making little Chinese eyes at me every time she asks me for kisses on her tummy 😁.
Before I go I just want to add that both Yara and Drako sleep with my parents and Pegui finally sleeps with me in bed, on the pillows to be more specific 🤣. My doggies are a little tender, I love them all. I apologize for the length of this post, my furries and I wish you a happy weekend! 💕🐶

Feliz viernes tengan todos los que quieren a montón los animales en la Comunidad de #HivePets. El día de hoy me siento inspirada, así que les traigo un post especial. Creo que he hablado un poco sobre los apodos y los nombres de mis mascotas, pero no les he dicho el origen de estos. De eso vengo a hablarles hoy, tal vez te sirva para elegir el nombre de tu próxima mascota.

En mi familia, cada vez que adoptamos a un perrito, solemos decidir rápido los nombres de cada uno, tomando en cuenta los anteriores que hemos tenido y a veces rindiéndole honor a una difunta mascota repitiendo el nombre porque lo extrañamos mucho. Pero en el caso de Drako y Yara, la elección fue difícil.
Esto porque su personalidad era totalmente diferente a todas las mascotas que hemos tenido, llegaron cargados de energía, con ganas de morder todo y comerse el mundo (literalmente porque siempre tenían hambre 🤣). En fin, con ellos tardamos unos cuantos días en decidirnos porque la verdad era como si ningún nombre pegara con ellos. Así que empiezo el cuento.
𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚊 𝚈𝚊𝚛𝚊
Elegir su nombre estaba complicado. Ella es la más juguetona de todos y se la pasa brincando. Yo quería un nombre representativo de dicha personalidad y la verdad no andaba de ánimos para repetir nombres. Quería algo nuevo, único y especial para ella.
Da la casualidad que días previos a que llegaran al hogar, me vi una película llamada Yara (muy buena, por cierto) y pues dije este es. Mi mamá estaba indecisa, pero al conocer el significado del nombre, le encantó. Según la película significa pequeña mariposa y quien llevaba ese nombre en el film era bailarina, le gustaba bailar, brincar y era una chica muy activa.
Pero, (nunca falta un, pero), de acuerdo a la fabulosa página de Behind The Name, una web altamente confiable para saber el origen de cualquier nombre, indica que el nombre Yara es de origen árabe y significa en realidad Amiga/Ayudante. Y bueno, básicamente así es mi Yara. Es la ayudante y fiel compañera amigable de mi querido papá 🤣.
También es mi fiel compañera de cuarto cuando me siento enferma, tengo jaqueca o estoy en uno de esos bajones emocionales, ella está allí pegada a mi como en la foto. Y bueno, de apodo le puse Chucutico por su mini colita, pero de etiqueta en redes sociales le digo #YaraLaWookiee porque hace como Chewbacca cuando quiere algo 🤣.
𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚊 𝙳𝚛𝚊𝚔𝚘
Él cuando llegó, era un perrito super triste, estaba como en Shock y le costó creer que tenía su propio plato de comida, además de dos comidas fijas al día. Recuerdo que fue lo que más trabajo me dio, enseñarles a comer separado y respetarse los platos. Yara es muy glotona y siempre le quería comer la comida a su hermano.
Ella en sí no comía, tragaba 🤣 todo lo que veía y pues hizo que su hermano pasara bastante hambre, por lo que Drako llegó con una personalidad sumisa y también más desnutrido que su hermana. De hecho, sus tamaños eran bastantes diferentes para tener la misma edad. Drako siempre fue más pequeño que su hermana.
Para elegir su nombre, mis padres querían uno que fuera así como el protector de la casa. Para ello pensé en los nombres de los dragones de Daenerys Targaryen porque soy muy fan de Juego de Tronos, pero el más sencillo de pronunciar, es decir, Drogon me sonaba feo para él.
Tipo como si fuera drogadicto. Estamos en Venezuela y nombres así lo agarramos a chalequeo, entonces pensé en Draco de Draco Malfoy y la saga de Harry Potter de la cual soy fan también, y bueno, ese fue el elegido. A mis padres les gustó porque el significado indica que es Dragón, bestia aterradora que escupe fuego y Protector. Mi mamá prefirió usar Drako con K, no sé por qué y así quedó. Y en las redes sociales le llamo #DrakoCinnamonRoll por tener la colita enrollada como un rollito de canela 😋.
𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚊 𝙿𝚎𝚐𝚞𝚒
En el caso de Pegui, quien le puso el nombre fue mi papá 🤣. Ella mientras estuvo en la calle, mi mamá y yo le llamábamos Catira, pero mi papá al ver que ella estaba tan pegada a nosotras, sobre todo conmigo, empezó a llamarla Pegui por pegajosa como un chicle 🤣.
Y así quedó, todos le decimos Pegui-Pegui y a ella le encanta su nombre, siempre mueve la colita cada vez que lo escucha porque sabe que hablamos con ella. Y aunque no sé exactamente qué edad tiene, ella es la más serie y cautelosa de la casa.
Muy pocas veces la he visto jugar con sus hermanitos adoptivos y se la pasa más que todo conmigo, acompañándome en silencio. Yo la veo como el Zorrito de aquel cuento llamado El Principito. Ese personaje es mi favorito de la historia y cada vez que la veo, pienso en ese personaje.
Me robó el corazón por completo. Me atrevo a decir que es mi favorita 🙈 aunque quiero a todos por igual porque sus personalidades son diferentes, pero ella es especial para mí por su pasado con sus antiguos dueños maltratadores y abusivos. A ella es la que más me ha costado acoplar a la familia. Aunque no he compartido mucho con ella en las redes sociales, uso la etiqueta de #PeguiPeguiPeiPei por hacerme ojitos chinitos cada vez que me pide besitos en su barriguita 😁.
Antes de irme sólo quiero agregar que tanto Yara como Drako duermen con mis padres y Pegui al fin duerme conmigo en la cama, sobre las almohadas para ser más específica 🤣. Mis perritos son una ternurita, los amo a todos. Me disculpo por lo largo del post. ¡Mis peluditos y yo les deseamos un feliz fin de semana! 💕🐶
