A lovely winters day.

I took some random photos during the course of the day, and a strong wind certainly stirred things up.

This is what I like to do on an off day, as there is no rush to get things done and one can only take things slow. So, we went to sit in a park for a while, then we went to have a coffee somewhere, and then a slow cruise later on just to see the views. We heard on the radio that the sea was very rough, due to the strong wind, and people were warned to stay away. One can tell that the sea is rough when the gulls fly overhead further inland, and one can see how clever they are because they wait for a lull between the gusts of wind. Then they fly over at speed, to get to their destination before the next strong gust arrives.

I have a total of 5 photos (including the first one) that were taken in the morning, and then some shots later in the day.

And here below are the photos later in the day.

It was cold and due to a public holiday most people were visiting with families indoors, or whatever they do in such weather, as we saw only a few hardy souls outside. One guy was even walking his dogs in the park, but he was quite a distance away from us.

So, the first photo below was a look southwards. Rain clouds were being driven by the wind at a hurried and tumultuous pace, but not a drop fell at our side of the mountains.

The other photos were taken towards north-east, and they were making up the vanguard of the clouds that were on their way southwards.

The sun turned some stormy scenes into lovely views, and I felt a strange happiness coursing through my mind.

Yes, it's rough going in that wind, as it tries it's best to blow one over, but I am used to it and stand fast when I take photos. The lulls between the wind gusts are deceptive as one cannot measure them, and it strikes often at the most inopportune moments. Skippers of boats out at sea also battle the gusts, and we have regular incidents of boats being damaged, or flipped over at sea. Thankfully we have very good disaster teams on watch during these times, but it is always sad to hear that some guys have drowned. Our prayers are always with the bereaved and grieving families, as often the drowned guys were the only source of income, and things will only be so much tougher for the wives and children to survive with no income. Thankfully, the government also issues child support grants, but it is minimal and a big battle for the families awaits.
It's a tough world that we live in, and love and kindness is at the order of the day.
Such is life.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

You're welcome. 😊 Greetings. 😊 Looking forward to see your next photos.😊

I found nasty month-old leftover mac and cheese in the fridge.
It was a case of age-related macaroni degeneration.

The sky covered with clouds and the golden sky formed when the golden light of the sun falls on those clouds makes the whole atmosphere beautiful. @papilloncharity

Thank you for your appreciation of the post, and I share your love for the sun and the clouds.

Oh for sure I always enjoy the pictures and the trip to Africa!

So strange to consider some people are headed into winter at the exact time we are over 30 Celsius all week here. Must be my North American showing.

Here is a little one back at you from Downtown Toronto.

Enjoy the breezy winter!

Thanks for the reminder, Sir Zeke, and now you have stirred my longings for the African summer sun. Even if I have to stay in the shade of the trees, as lately during summer we are starting to nudge the early 40Cs.

That is a lovely show of Downtown Toronto.

Blessings and !BEER

That's horrible to have someone drown and have a family lose their sole source of income. I'm glad it doesn't happen often.

Gulls aren't dumb birds, they will avoid the extra work of flying in a strong gust. Beautiful shots you got there, stay warm!

Always horrible and so many lose their homes during the winter floods. The people are placed in shelters, and when the storm is over, they go back to re-build their homes. The deaths are terrible.

Gulls know to fly inland when the sea becomes stormy and like all of the other animals they head for safety. Glad that you liked the shots.
