Today, following yesterday's message, I share with you a powerful declaration of the unity and cohesion that should characterize the Christian church. Paul calls believers to live in harmony, reflecting the unity that already exists in Christ and is facilitated by the Holy Spirit. This unity is based on fundamental elements of the Christian faith and the common relationship with God as Father.
One body, and one Spirit, as you were also called in the same hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
Ephesians 4:4-6

"A body"
The term "one body" refers to the church, which is seen as the body of Christ. In the context of Ephesians and other letters of Paul, the church is made up of all believers in Christ, who are members of this body. The metaphor of the body emphasizes unity and interdependence among believers, as each member has a specific role and function that contributes to the well-being and functioning of the whole.
"A spirit"
"One Spirit" refers to the Holy Spirit, who indwells each believer and the church as a whole. The Holy Spirit is the source of spiritual life, power and guidance for Christians. The unity of the Spirit is fundamental because it is through Him that believers are united to Christ and to each other.
"As you were also called in the same hope of your calling"
This fragment highlights that all believers share the same hope, which is linked to their calling or vocation in Christ. This hope refers to eternal life and the full realization of the kingdom of God, promises that are common to all Christians. Vocation is not only an invitation to salvation, but also to live a life that reflects the character and purpose of God.
"A Sir"
"One Lord" refers to Jesus Christ, who is the Lord and Savior of all believers. Unity under one Lord emphasizes that, regardless of individual differences, all Christians submit to the same authority and leadership of Christ.
"A faith"
"One faith" refers to the set of central beliefs and doctrines of Christianity. This common faith includes belief in God, in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the redemptive work of Christ, and salvation by grace through faith. Unity in faith is essential to maintaining cohesion and doctrinal integrity within the church.
"A baptism"
"A baptism" refers to the rite of initiation into the Christian faith, symbolizing the believer's identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Baptism represents the purification of sins and the new birth in Christ. This unique baptism is a sign of unity among all believers, regardless of their background.
"One God and Father of all"
"One God and Father of all" affirms the belief in one God, who is the creator and sustainer of all. This statement emphasizes the universal fatherhood of God, who loves and cares for all of his children. It also underscores God's sovereignty and absolute control over all creation.
"Who is above all, and through all, and in all"
This last fragment describes the omnipresence and dominion of God. "Over all" indicates his sovereignty and supreme authority. "For all" suggests that God works through all things and people, directing and fulfilling his purposes. "In all" points to the immanent presence of God, especially through the Holy Spirit, who dwells in each believer.

Hoy siguiendo el mensaje de ayer les comparto una poderosa declaración de la unidad y cohesión que debe caracterizar a la iglesia cristiana. Pablo llama a los creyentes a vivir en armonía, reflejando la unidad que ya existe en Cristo y que es facilitada por el Espíritu Santo. Esta esperanza se refiere a la vida eterna y la plena realización del reino de Dios, promesas que son comunes a todos los cristianos. La vocación no es solo una invitación a la salvación, sino también a vivir una vida que refleje el carácter y propósito de Dios.
"Un Señor"
"Un Señor" se refiere a Jesucristo, quien es el Señor y Salvador de todos los creyentes. La unidad bajo un solo Señor subraya que, independientemente de las diferencias individuales, todos los cristianos se someten a la misma autoridad y liderazgo de Cristo.
"Una fe"
"Una fe" se refiere al conjunto de creencias y doctrinas centrales del cristianismo. Esta fe común incluye la creencia en Dios, en Jesucristo como el Hijo de Dios, la obra redentora de Cristo, y la salvación por gracia mediante la fe. La unidad en la fe es esencial para mantener la cohesión y la integridad doctrinal dentro de la iglesia.
"Un bautismo"
"Un bautismo" se refiere al rito de iniciación en la fe cristiana, simbolizando la identificación del creyente con la muerte, sepultura y resurrección de Cristo. El bautismo representa la purificación de los pecados y el nuevo nacimiento en Cristo. Este bautismo único es un signo de la unidad entre todos los creyentes, independientemente de sus antecedentes.
"Un Dios y Padre de todos"
"Un Dios y Padre de todos" afirma la creencia en un único Dios, quien es el creador y sustentador de todos. Esta declaración enfatiza la paternidad universal de Dios, quien ama y cuida a todos sus hijos. También subraya la soberanía y el control absoluto de Dios sobre toda la creación.
"El cual es sobre todos, y por todos, y en todos"
Este último fragmento describe la omnipresencia y el dominio de Dios. "Sobre todos" indica su soberanía y autoridad suprema. "Por todos" sugiere que Dios trabaja a través de todas las cosas y personas, dirigiendo y cumpliendo sus propósitos.
