Hello amazing member @diyhub community, am thrilled to share with you all This beautiful and simple traditional necklaces I made.

For today diy, after so much thinking and different creative imagination I decide to make a simply traditional necklace. From where I come from (Edo state) during a traditional wedding ceremony the bride and groom are dressed up in there traditional attire and the groom only use few of these bead on his neck and the hand while the bride wear this bead from her head down ward this beads are use to design the bride attire. These beads are not just use to make only necklace and bracelet but are also use in making crowns for the royal family. The beads are of different types and colors but this color are mostly use by people here in Nigeria apart from people from the northern part of Nigeria, The necklace is very simple to make.

To start with the process these were the materials I use

  • traditional beads (jigida)
  • Fishing line
  • Scissors

Procedure

First step: I cut out a lengthy fishing line that will go round in making the necklace. I cut out two equal fishing line since am making two.

Second step: I tied up the other side of the fishing line so that when inserting the beads it won’t come out, so after that I start inserting the beads (jigida) into the fishing line.

Third step: i continue to insert the beads(jigida) into the fishing line until I got to my desire length then I tightened up properly to avoid losing then I use a lighters to heat up the place I tied to prevent it from losing.
Hope you all like it.
