Zaïre

The country that is now called The Congo, Zaïre, was home to the greatest fight ever. One billion people watched the boxing match between George Foreman and Mohamed Ali.

Foreman was considered unbeatable, in his prime at 25 years old, he had already “extinguished” 37 opponents. And he agreed for the game against Ali, because he thought Ali was bankrupt. It was kind of an act of charity as nobody thought he could lose to Ali, at 32 years past his best years.

But the people witnessed a miracle, because 13 seconds before the bell in the 8th round, Foreman was knocked out by Ali. The upset of the century in the game of the century. Even now, 50 years later, it is still remembered by those who watched the game!

The rumble in the jungle is a part of sports history!

Sincerely,
