Game Mania is no GameStop

The similarities between the companies Game Mania and GameStop are a lot. Both are shops that sell physical games and consoles, both new and 2nd hand. But Game Mania has declared bankruptcy yesterday. The physical shops, 30 over the countries Belgium and The Netherlands closed as of today. Only the online shop stays open until further notice…

Gamestop does exactly the same as Game Mania but does in the United States, and it has a lot more physical stores. Which gives it higher overhead… But luckily for GameStop, fans of the stores bundled powers together a few years ago on Reddit. They decided to start buying up the stock in mass, which made the stock price of GameStop boom. Giving oxygen to the company to reorganise and re-establish itself on the market with the fresh funds.

There was even a another run on the stock of GameStop earlier this year. Which shows GameStop is here to stay.

Game Mania becomes GameStop?

It would be smart move from GameStop to buy the remainder of Game Mania. It would give GameStop a foot on the ground in Europe, and make it a multinational…
