This is a 5-minute freewrite in response to the prompt from 2/13/2025 "a growl in the night"
"What was that?"
"I didn't hear anything, as I'm a really deep sleeper".
"It sounded like growling. Do you think it could be a bear or something?"
"No bears in these woods. Go back to sleep."
Sometimes we ignore warning signs. Sometimes the growl we hear in the night is a bear or a wolf. Sometimes we lull ourselves into a false sense of security and make a horrible choice to stay in the tent. Sometimes we make the choice to run for the car.
I know alot of us can relate to ignoring warning signs. A growl could be a check engine light or a silent alarm but it's still a growl. If we ignore the growl, we could pay the price and our ignorance of what the growl means is no excuse. We cannot bury our heads in the sand and expect for the growl to dissipate like perfume in the wind.
Don't ignore growls. Even in the night, when we're blurry eyed and half asleep, we need to make sure to be perceptive and respond. Be aware and when you hear the growl act on your best judgement.
Be prepared and be ready to respond before the growl is heard.
