New Nissan Juke | The Best Urban Hybrid Crossover?

in #cars16 days ago

When the new Nissan Juke was released earlier this year, it was fab seeing it in this vibrant yellow hue – and we couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel. We even got the chance to compare it to the new Ford Puma. What a day!

Packed with lots of upgrades, this new Juke is fresh and stylish, which is what it needs to maintain its footing in such a competitive market. Nissan have even introduced a new trim, the N-Sport! It adds a black roof, black wheels, black door mirrors and a black grille, and it’s especially striking when it’s combined with the new/old yellow colour. It’s a lovely nod to it’s heritage, and Nissan have done it well with a modern twist.

The VP of Nissan Design in Europe – Matthew Weaver – had this to say: “Juke’s bold design is its calling card. Bringing back yellow with a fresh twist adds even more personality—it’s like the car’s got an extra ‘bang’!

So what has changed? Once you step inside you’ll see it straight away – the new 12.3” touchscreen is the first thing you’ll see, and the cockpit look and feel is compounded by the fact that it’s angled towards the driver.

It’s fitted with SatNav, an improved vocal recognition system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Add to this things like driver performance stats, and it’s got most bases covered. It’s user friendly too, with higher resolution and a customisable display. There’s also no need to worry about connecting multiple devices, as the Juke now has USB-A and USB-C ports in the front and in the back.

Upgrades in tech can be seen in the Juke’s safety too, as Nissan now offers their Intelligent Driver Alertness as standard across the range. If you’re looking at the top of the range trim, it comes with Lane Keep Assist, and a higher res reversing camera. Options include the around-view monitor which helps enormously when you need to park in a really tight parking spot – something you’ll find in many cities nowadays.

It’s powered by a 1L petrol engine, and you have the choice of a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed automatic gearbox. There’s also a hybrid, which partners a 1.2kWh battery with an electric motor, which when paired to the 1L petrol engine manages to significantly drop the fuel consumption.

Prices for the range are:
£23,500 for the Acenta Premium
£25,500 for the N-Connecta
£27,000 for the Tekna
£28,400 for the Tekna+
£28,400 for the N-Sport

The one we have here is the Tekna+ with the Hybrid powertrain, which costs £31,995 on the road.

Thank you all, and enjoy!
