Blimey, I get so giddy when we get invited to manufacturing events, lol.🤣
When we travelled up to London a few days, we headed to a venue we hadn’t been to before – Magazine London in The Docklands, for the official UK launch of the OMODA car brand.

The launch event was nothing short of spectacular, with Magazine London’s modern, industrial-chic venue serving as the perfect backdrop for OMODA’s vision of the future. From the moment we stepped into the venue, it was clear that OMODA is a brand that’s ready to shake up the industry with a blend of innovation, style, and advanced technology.

Choosing Magazine London as the venue for their official UK launch was a stroke of genius - the venue, with its contemporary architecture and panoramic views of the Thames, perfectly captured the modern, forward-thinking ethos of the OMODA brand.

As we arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Industry experts, journalists, and car enthusiasts alike gathered to witness the unveiling of OMODA’s UK lineup, with the 5 taking centre stage. The sleek lines were accentuated by the venue’s dynamic lighting, highlighting the SUV’s bold design elements and futuristic aesthetic.

One look at the 5, and you can tell that this SUV is designed to turn heads. The front fascia is dominated by a bold, diamond-patterned grille that flows seamlessly into the sharp, angular LED headlights. This giving it a distinctive and aggressive look, setting it apart from other SUVs in its class.
The side profile continues this theme of dynamic design, with a sloping roofline that gives the vehicle a sporty, coupe-like silhouette. The sleek lines and sculpted bodywork are not just for show—they also enhance the vehicle’s aerodynamics, contributing to both performance and efficiency.
At the rear, it features a full-width LED taillight bar, which not only looks modern but also improves visibility. The rear design is clean and minimalistic, with a subtle roof spoiler adding a touch of sportiness to the overall look.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a cabin that’s both high-tech and comfortable. The interior design mirrors the exterior’s modern aesthetic, with a focus on clean lines and a clutter-free layout. The centrepiece of the cabin is the large, high-resolution touchscreen that controls everything from navigation to climate settings.

The seats are upholstered in premium materials, providing both comfort and support for long drives. The interior is surprisingly spacious for a compact SUV, offering plenty of room for both passengers and cargo. On the Noble trim, the panoramic sunroof adds to the sense of space, flooding the cabin with natural light and providing a great view of the sky.

Under the bonnet, the 5 is equipped with a 1.6Litre, four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that delivers a smooth and responsive driving experience. Whether you’re navigating city streets or heading somewhere on the motorway, this crossover feels agile and composed, with plenty of power on tap when you need it.

But it’s not just about performance—the OMODA 5 is packed with advanced technology that enhances both safety and convenience. The SUV features a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automated emergency braking. These features work together to make every journey in the 5 as safe and stress-free as possible.

The infotainment system is another highlight, with its intuitive interface and seamless smartphone integration. Whether you’re making hands-free calls, streaming music, or navigating to your next destination, you are kept connected and entertained on the go.

The launch of the brand at Magazine London was more than just a vehicle unveiling—it was a clear statement of OMODA’s ambitions in the UK market. The brand is positioning itself as a leader in innovation, with a strong focus on integrating advanced technology into every aspect of their vehicles.

OMODA has hinted at expanding their line up in the near future, with plans to introduce more models that build on the success of the 5. Given the strong start at Magazine London, we’re excited to see what the future holds for this innovative brand.

Thank you all, and enjoy!
Annabelle 😊

I do think that a lot of cars go for looks over practicality these days. We used to have 'bumpers' that could take the inevitable scrapes, but now there's acres of painted plastic that will cost a fortune to fix or retouch. That contributes to the rising insurance costs. Sorry to sound grumpy, but it just bugs me. I'm sure it's a nice car, but they are primarily transport and need to be practical.

They do get a lot of power out of small engines these days. Economy ought to be a primary selling point, but ICE will die out soon anyway.

I do enjoy your reports though. I don't tend to see much other motoring news, so keep it coming.
