I have spent around 200 hours in Warframe and this game has managed to surprise me more and more. There are so many different game modes, characters, weapons, and items and the freedom to pick and choose and create your perfect loadout which suits your gameplay is of no match. The gameplay is quite fun but the narration and storytelling are even better.
At first, it looks like a generic looter shooter where you play as some kind of space ninja and perform missions. But then slowly the game starts to tell its own story through the quests. The later quests are well made and I would say the game starts getting in the AAA territory around The New War quest. But the only complaint I have is it comes after a lot of things. The game has a ton of content that by the time you reach this quest you have already been in for around 100 hours and not everyone is this patient with their games.
I already liked the game and enjoyed it but after the story starts building up and the quests start getting bigger and bigger, only then do you realise it is a hidden masterpiece of a game.
And if the developers don't do something about that it will remain hidden for most. Anyway, today I want to talk about my progress in the game.
Mastery Rank 15
I managed to achieve Mastery Rank (MR) 15 today. It took me about 200 hours in the game. I was actively purchasing blueprints of weapons from the market, levelling them up, selling them to get some space back, buying more, and repeating the cycle. Some craft time is involved, usually 12 to 24 hours for a weapon. Which is a good time to gather resources for the next batch of items to craft them in the foundry.
These wait times seem huge at first but once you have enough resources you get this cycle where you always have enough weapons ready and you can put more into crafting.
Did I tell you to get to the next Mastery Rank you have to complete a test? These tests are not too tough but always different. Some are just killing x number of enemies in a given amount of time or killing enemies on falling platforms or while avoiding dangers like lasers etc.
But this one was an Interception mission-type test where you have to capture enemy towers and not let them recapture these towers back. But there are three towers placed on the edge of the map and you have to go and kill enemies and be quick too.
After I captured all three towers quickly, I used my Zephyr's First ability to get up in the air and hover. From here I could see all the three towers and the approaching enemies. I took down the enemies with my powerful bow. It has a lot of damage and range and was a quest reward item I received.
If I fail a mastery rank-up test, I can only take the test after 24 hours so I always go to practice and see what the test is and prepare my loadout accordingly.
This unlocks more powerful weapons in the game. One of them is this bow called 'Proboscis Cernos'. This is one of the most deadly bow in the game and requires a mutualist Cernos to be crafted.
I have blueprints for both of them but need to get the required resources to build it.
Another thing that I have my eyes on is a Warframe called Nekros Prime. It is an improved version of Nekros. Although both of these versions have the same abilities but the Prime variant has better stats in general.
Why I want to have this in my arsenal because of its third ability called Desecrate which forces more loot out of the dead enemies. In a resource-heavy game, this ability is very good and you can farm more resources better with him.
I collected all the parts required to build it and this is now cooking in my Foundry. It will take around 3 days to finish building.
This build time sucks but I guess that's their way to monetize this game. I don't mind it because there are a lot of other things to do in the game while you are waiting for it to finish so it doesn't matter a lot.
