Some few days ago, something happened that just kinda reminded me of the kind of guy that I used to be in the past, but no longer is anymore. A friend of mine had gotten upset because of something someone else had done to him the other night, and being the guy that he was, he had no choice but to immediately express how upself he was. So he got angry, trying to find the name of the lady he was looking for, while everyone else was busy, trying to protect the same person.
I remember looking at him as he screamed at the top of his voice and just asking myself what I would have done if I was in these guy's shoe few years ago.
Back then, I used to be one of the guys who was always quick to anger and would immediately react when someone offended me. Because back then, it felt like I was always looking for trouble due to how young I was back back then, like it was all I wanted.
But ever since then, I've heard and seen a couple of things that happened to guys who used to live that same lifestyle that I wanted to live back then, and now I don't even envy them no more because of how they turned out. Now, I'm a lot more calm and friendly towards people because I've come to realize that getting upset and trying to be a badass all the time isn't something anyone should try to emulate.
Getting older has taught me that although most young people would like to express their anger immediately, most times it is better to just sit back and relax, and watch. Because you never know who is who. And you never know what react out of anger could cost you.
You see, not a lot of people you see walking down the road are healthy and just one punch from you to someone else, is more than enough to send them to the afterlife, and then you find yourself with a murder case on your hand.
So if you ask me, it is a lot more safer to suppress your anger, rather than to express it in most cases in order to avoid any form of regrets or whatsoever. Because we can never be too careful and we never know who is who
