Happy and Sad

in #hive-15385015 days ago

A friend of mine had come visit me over at my place today. He basically saved my life because I was going through one of my worse phase of boredom so far, so seeing him got me excited and was like a breath of fresh air.

He had stayed for a couple of hours before eventually telling me that it was time for him to leave, so I had to escort him down the road. But just as we were about walking out my door, he had mentioned that he was feeling hungry, so I had quickly recommended a spot where he could get some food because I had nothing at home to give to him (I don't cook).

He had refused and was just going to endure until he got home but then we started talking about the spot I had recommended to him earlier and I remember describing how good their food was and he had asked when was the last time I went there, and that was when I told him a short story that kinda left me with a happy-sad feeling.

You see up until few days ago, I didn't even know that restaurant existed, until a friend of mine had taken me there to get me food, which was a surprise to me because I didn't ask him for nothing, he just saw me and asked me to walk with him.

By the time I was done saying this to my friend, our conversation was no longer about the food but about the gesture my friend had shown towards me, I had switched the whole thing up because this was the first time someone (a male friend) was actually taking me to go eat without me asking him to do so, so it was a big deal for me.

And as if that wasn't enough, someone else had also done the exact same thing yesterday. I was seated outside my hostel just chilling, when another friend of mine had asked me to accompany him to a bar where they sell all sort of meats and pepper soup and all that and he literally had asked me to get anything I wanted.

Thinking about it as I told my friend the story almost made me emotional because these things really shouldn't be a big deal to me in the first place, but due to the fact that I've always been the one giving and haven't received anything from anyone without me asking for it first in a very very long time made me feel loved.

And this was something I didn't even know I needed until it happened, feeling loved.

It's okay to feel this and it is valid.

Yeah, I guess you're right 🙂.

Aww... This is so good.
That feeling of receiving from someone without asking is a wonderful feeling.
I really can relate, ohh...I'm almost getting emotional right now

It just makes you feel loved and know that the people around you do care about you. That's one of the best feeling in the world.

Sometimes, you can also send me som HBD to my Hive account so that I will feel the same like you🤣. !LOL
Just kidding.
I also feel good when I get something for free.

It feels good when we get something for free, but what's more better is getting something for free without asking for it in the first place.
